You are neither Real Madrid nor a small club. I got to know you better in the period in which Juventus and Tottenham clashed in the CL: in a football world in the hands of Arabs, Americans etc. I like to see a club with ownership from the same country.
You are aware our De Facto owner relocated to the Bahamas many years ago to avoid paying tax on his Billions and is also a convicted felon?

So the SC melters are convinced that Neto is the guy, the “ITKs” keep posting in his thread about how big of a priority he is.

Can I ask, is there any real evidence that we’re prioritizing Neto this window? I’m looking for media reporting and it’s basically non existent. It’s basically stuff like “Spurs are interested but not at crazy fees” from Romano and the likes. Doesn’t seem close at all.
Neto and Eze would probably cost somewhere between 110 -120m,not sure the club will go for that.
Probably one biggish signing and another around half that, like chiesa price.

We'd kill to have Mido or Kanoute at their best as our strikers now.
well he is back

Son is ageing & Richie is hit and miss and Injury Prone - If we go into next season without signing another Striker who can compete with what we currently have then I think it is a huge failure!
Don't get me wrong I know its not the easiest position to recruit for but we sold Kane for £100 Million nearly a year ago - We should have had his replacement lined up long before we sold him otherwise we are going to get into a situation soon where we are not only having to replace Kane who we sold lat summer, but we are also having to replace Son.
Pretty ironic that we did no forward-planning when it comes to a Kane replacement

most of the noise surrounding neto appears to be liverpool.
Good player but they're welcome to him, his fitness record since being in the country is awful

I didn’t know and it surprises me but we have Qatari owners who managed to organize a World Cup bypassing any concept of human rights. Unfortunately there is a lot of rot. Even Andrea Agnelli was a fool with the Super League and with a war on Ceferin that only brought trouble. Juventus was punished for capital gains that Inter, Roma, Napoli, Barcelona etc. also made. If the club makes a mistake punish them but show me that there is justice…

Nope. None

There’s very little at all on any player being leaked to the media

It’s driving people bananas

Well said that man. Thanks for highlighting

In fact, despite the bullshit promises of all the extra third party revenue being reinvested in the team, The worlds 8th richest club continues to be the lowest de facto squad investors in the Premier League!

Scandelous

I’m not disputing we could/should be spending more than we do as a percentage of wages to turnover but just for some more context:

We have upped our wage bill - we now spend more than Arse on wages - it’s just that we’ve upped our turnover by even more % and there are only three of that top 100 teams that pay less salary/turnover ratio.

Since 2022/23 we've sold or released Kane, Ndombele, Lloris, Dier, Perisic, Hojbjerg Sanchez. Hopefully Lo Celso to come. I doubt many of the players bought in since get close to them wages wise apart from Maddison. Not saying thats a bad thing but we've got huge amounts of wriggle room this summer.

But it's never enough is it. 24 years and 1 trophy says that. Until we win something it will never change the mindset
We had a 4/5 year hiatus from sensible forward planning recruitment and steady growth to trying to do it immediately and it back fired badly.
We've now got back on track (I think) but it doesn't happen quickly.
From last summer I was excited by Tapshoba although didn't know anything about him, excited by VDV but thought he may get caught out.
Turned out well, whether that was planning, the cheap option or luck I've no idea.
I think things have changed the last year - management, style of play, recruitment team and being more focused rather than utterly random. We are heading in the right direction.

If we sell Richy first, then we have a genuine choice to make:

Toney, Eze, Chiesa Solanke...

Let's say any 2 combos of the 4...?

Who would you go for (bearing in mind a scenario where Richy leaves)

Eze + Solanke for me - though i wouldn't be unhappy with Chiesa -

Toney would do ok for us I'm sure - just haven't really warmed to him attitude wise and think that's a big reason why a team like Woolwich & Man u - who desperately need a player like him, are staying away
