Villa is owned by an Egyptian.
Every american owner has been shite
Pool fans think FSG is american Levy. Backed Klopp so much he quit.

Ratcliffe is doing a sterling job at united
The business that owns Villa, V holdings, is jointly owned by an Egyptian and an American and an American investment firm owns a separate 20% stake, the Egyptian fella is only worth about £6bn by himself (similar to Lewis actually) which is absolute chump change in today's Premier league. Make no mistake most of the investment into the club is being procured from American investment companies.

I have seen the Pool fans complain about FSG not pulling the trigger when they could and perhaps should have in the market, but they usually assuage such accusations with the odd marquee signing, they certainly aren't misers in the transfer market despite what they might lead you to think, it's also convenient for Pool fans to talk up the massive difference in their spending vs City's even though they've actually spent more in terms of net over the last 5 seasons. Could you ever see Levy signing off on deals like Van Dijk, Alisson (£66.8m for a goalkeeper?) or Nunez? They rarely spend less than £30m to sign a player even just for the squad.
Ratcliffe isn't even majority owner of United yet and he's been there 5 minutes, exactly what "sterling" job is he doing?

That still gives us:
Richarlison - non HG
Son - non HG
Johnson - HG
Werner - non HG
Maddison - HG
Lo Celso - non HG
Sarr - non HG
Bergvall - non HG
Bissouma - non HG
Gray - HG
Skipp - Club Trained
Porro - non HG
Spence - HG
Emerson - non HG
Udogie - non HG
Davies - HG
Romero - non HG
Dragusin - non HG
Vdv - - non HG
Vicario - non HG
Forster - HG
Austin - Club Trained

So 20 out of the limit of 21 NonHG/HG players and we would still need a LB, a Striker and a Winger.

Yeah, we will sell Emerson and could get away with not registering Forster for Europe, but any other player we sell e.g. Lo Celso, would have to be replaced.

In an ideal world, we would have a buyer for Davies and bring in a 4th CB, but even then we don't need to be spending 37m on one.

IMO, Davies is fine for this season and his contract ends next year, so he can go then. Also, we have Vuskovic joining next season, who looks incredible for his age. It will be interesting to see how he gets on in Belgium.

Aren't a couple of them U21, so don't count on the PL list?

We can't do another season of Davies surely. he's a terrible CB and a pretty meh LB, rubbish as an inverted LB.

As pre-season progresses it becomes apparent that we have plugged many of the holes we had in defence and midfield, even assuming that Lo Celso and Royal follow Gil out of the door:

RB - Porro, Spence (also Gray)
LB - Udogie, Davies (plus Donley v weaker teams as he is technically good as inverted LB but lacks the speed) also Spence
CB's - Romero, Van de Venn, Dragusin, Gray (Skipp against weaker teams ?),

No 6/DLP - Bissouma, Skipp, Devine, (also Gray)
No 8 - Bissouma, Sarr (also Devine),
Creative 8 - Maddison, Bergvall, Donley

Whilst still room for improvement, the purchase of Gray and Bergvall, rehabilitation of Spence and form of youngsters Donley and Devine has really improved the options we have.

Probably the weakest area is that LCB/LB type of position, but its perfectly possible that in one of the remaining preseason games Spence excels as LB or Donley continues to show he could play LB. And its still possible we buy one player in that position.

Either way we seem so much more improved in depth and quality compared to last season.
Definitely have better depth than last season. I do think Skipp will be loaned out or sold, Donley and Devine have moved ahead of him with their performances in the friendlies but one of them might be loaned out also.

No senior player is going to be happy being left out of the European squad. Why would you need to upgrade 4th place CB if you are just playing kids in Europe?

Woolwich challenged for the league and competed in the CL and had Kiwior as their 3rd choice. We will be fine with Davies as 4th choice.
Might be, might not. I agree and think we can take a gamble and reassess in December - we seem to be ready to do business in the winter window unlike previous years when we clearly didn’t have a plan

I'd like to see them gone. Theyve had 25 years or close.

Stavely buying in and eventually selling to some arabs would be my dream scenario
25 years. 1 league cup

When you compare the ENIC 25 year period with what we won in the previous 25 year period. And the 25 year period before that....you can fully understand why our 2 biggest rivals fans sing

"Daniel Levy, We want you to stay" 🎶

Those same fan bases would be horrified, nay, terrified at the thought of new ownership for Spurs.

The fucking day cannot come soon enough

I think they weren't sure if Mikey Moore was going to be ready for big minutes this season so they signed Werner to cover this season.
That is not the point. You can still have Moore but have a proper ready to go player ahead of him rather than Werner. As it is in the games so far Moore has been played on the right. He should be tried on the left which is where he normally plays. He is miles better than Solomon and I’d say has better technical ability than Werner.
