Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Over a fifth of S.Korean football fans had Tottenham as their foreign team recently, if you think this isn't majorly motivated by foreign support and finance over football, then you're completely delusional.

No one is saying he's not a talented player with potential, but get fucking real.
Spurs are one of, if not the most popular English team in Argentina. I've heard this from countless Argentines I've met here over the last 35 years.

On more than one occasion I've stopped by a bar for some swift refreshment and ended up downing too many beers with albiceleste lads chatting football.

The last time was on a train back home, got talking to an Argentinian bloke who started skinning up. I think it's the only time I have ever smoked anything on a suburban train here.

They all know their Spurs and are delighted to talk about Ossie and Ricky, Pochettino, Lamela and the rest of the boys.

So how is it different where Koreans are involved?

We've never played the South Korean army, navy and air force - away - and thrashed all three of them?

I hate to sound cynical here but Son is likely going to be leaving within a few seasons and he has a sizeable base of dedicated Korean supporters that regularly turn up at the ground to watch him play and that is a LOT of money and a LOT of arses in seats to lose once he leaves.

I don't think Levy is prepared to lose that supporter group and I think that's why this signing has happened.

Now obviously, if he turns out as good as Son did then it's a win regardless but I think the intention behind it is pretty obvious from a business perspective because come rain or shine Korean players in the PL have a sizeable support that will turn up and pay for tickets.
If your worst fears are true, SO WHAT?

It’s not like the transfer fee was 120M quid or even 20M quid like Chavs are throwing around for unproven Brazilian kids. The fee is reportedly 4M Euro - about HALF of our Bald Cunt’s annual wage. Club will probably make that back in U21 shirt sales to Koreans before he’s even at the club in January.

So it’s a FREE PUNT on a kid that Chavs, City or Liverpool also reportedly put in a bid for. - and the commercial angle is added bonus init.

So I don’t understand your concern - What’s the problem? Seems to me like it’s all potential upside.

Obviously I’d like to see for signings for senior players. But 4M quid won’t matter when it comes to our pursuit of Eze, Toney, David, etc.

You really need pointing out the differences between football markets in Asia compared to South America?

No one is saying the lad isn't a talented player, but this is primarily, majorly about keeping the South Korean fanbase onside for when we cash in on Son/he gets too old for ENIC. If you really think otherwise you're delusional.

It's a punt on a youngster that won't cost much and keeps the travelling tourist fans onside and the Won rolling in.

(Oh look, a cretin disagrees)

If we are expecting Koreans to spend money on the club if Yang isn't good enough then we will be severely disappointed.

If he's really good AND also a really human being like Son, then Koreams will be super proud of him and spend money. If he's not those things then it won't make any difference to them that he's Korean. if anything they will be less likely to spend money on him.
