No point making any of the valid points about Kulusevski to those that don't rate him. He could finish the season with 15 goals and 10 assists playing the false 9 role and they would still hate him.

If you read my post then you will see that I DO rate him. Basically he’s very good when he plays centrally as he can hold the ball up well, link play, he‘s a great in our press too. Point is, we are heavily rumoured to be looking for wide players who are good 1v1, if we achieve bringing them in, Kulu plays where? As a wide player in Angel’s system he’s not that effective, only when he comes inside off his line does he shine, Ange wants his FB’s to provide that (an over simplification). When Kulu plays as a 10 he’s been very good but very different to Madders (almost a false 9), so he’s not a direct like for like cover with him.

So, if new attacking players are found and they go straight into the side where does he play? His value will drop as a result And we miss an opportunity to sell while his stock is high. All this is of course moot because it requires us bringing in new players who slot straight into the first team and I don’t know if this is going to happen.

It wasn't me that said they were going down. I just clarified that neither they, nor Barcelona are skint. Just restricted by FFP/PSR
As we've seen, repeatedly, a lot of teams just work around it.
Barcelona sell tickets for matches in the 2345 season for example.

Skipp deserves a chance to go and play for a team where he will get lots of game time. He'd be good player for a lower PL team or a top championship side.
I don't get the obsession with keeping the poor lad here, where he will get hardly any game time and a number of the under 21 lads have moved ahead of him in the pecking order. He's just sitting in the background rotting away, he needs to be allowed to make a career for himself.

Home grown, club trained. Very short on those.

I get that, he's not rapid but he's faster than he looks and there are fucking zero issues with his balance and dexterity. He made his abilities count plenty of times last season. Especially considering how many different roles he was asked to cover and spent most of the season as the player covering the most distance in the prem and also providing the most big chances.

Agree let's see how the 9/F9 thing goes, it is too early to tell but the signs are encouraging.

He had a good opening few months of last season , he still wasn't breathtaking but he was decent . He was garbage from Feb onwards and a couple of half decent performances against the Sheffield Utd's of the world are blinding people.

He's a "decent" enough player on his day but not good enough for where we want to be. FWIW you could say that about every single one of our attacking options as of today, except maybe Sonny

Who has moved ahead of him? You've seen a couple of kids in pre season friendlies and suddenly everyone thinks they are ready for the premier league!

When Son went off at the weekend, he was given the captains armband. Doesn't seem like someone rotting in the background.

With Hojbjerg gone We have Bissouma, Skipp and Sarr currently to rotate in defensive midfield; with Bentancur, Gray, Bergvall as the more box to box option.

If anything, we need Skipp's experience to help Sarr, Gray and Bergvall.

It would do good to remember, Bergvall played 12 games last season, and both he and Devine has never played at the 'top level'.

We definitely need more fullbacks and somebody to fill hojbjerg’s games. He was a player always available and never injured. Not always easy for us to find nowadays.

And that’s even before buying players to improve the starting XI, yet it seems to have gone a bit under the radar.
