untrue, have a look at his time with Warnock
The only thing public Warnock has said about him was following Spence's twitter post after gaining promotion to the PL.....

Yes, Warnock put him on loan to Forrest but not sure why, was this for development (he was what 19/20 at the time) or because he's a low-block defensive cunt that plays archaic football and so found him too expansive for his style???

The thing is, he seems to respond well to managers who aren't cunts and play decent football.

As I say, I've no idea about his temperament or whether he will make it with us or not, all I know is he can play if in the right environment. Conte Spurs, bar the 2nd half of his first season was a disaster zone where all our players didn't respond (Spence was already absent) and Warnock isn't exactly a superstar of football man management known for his progressive expansive style of the beautiful game. Ange is and Ange seems to be getting a tune out of him in pre-season.

I'm confident that the football Ange plays, especially for his FB's is one that plays to Spence's strengths. Let's hope his temperament (completely unknown to us outside the game) is one that Ange also thinks is a positive to be included in his squad.

Earlier in Warnock's reign at the Riverside, which ended when he was sacked last November, he called Spence's attitude into question, claiming his lack of commitment "could see him playing non-league football in five years' time". - Nottingham post

he clearly had attitude issues before conte, but to be honest i really dont care

a) It's Warnock = cunt
b) as per my earlier above post - he appears to respond to managers who aren't cunts and/or is motivated in proving them wrong.

Don't matter Conte was a cunt. I don't think anyone misses that shithead.

But also said he could be playing for one of the top clubs in the world

Warnock maybe a bellend, but I trust him on judging a player’s character, after all, he has managed enough of them in his career so he would easily be able to spot the wronguns.

Maybe he will stay but let’s see if he does and how he reacts to not being first choice. If he returns to his previous behaviour then we will be looking for a new right back in January. We know how much faith Ange puts on character and how one bad one can fuck things up, he’s said so. Therefore we will have to leave it to the manager as to whether keeping him is a risk or not. That’s why I’m not sure he will still be here for the new season.

I think that's the whole point...
Warnock is experienced and old enough in the tooth to recognise a good player when he sees one...

By the same token, I imagine he can also see the warning signs!

His prediction that Spence will end up at either a top club, or in non-league is probably pretty spot on...

There's no middle ground.
Either it's a pathway right to the top (if he wants it) or back on the scrap heap if he's not careful.

I saw it as more a note of caution, rather than ripping his entire career apart!

If Spence WANTS it enough, he'll probably get it!

I think Warnock is old school shouty, shouty blood, thunder, go kill'um style. Not all players respond to this and from we're all reading nowadays most don't. It's never one size fits all and managers that can take the group with them and look after all manner of different personalities is then a skilled man manager. I absolutely don't think Warnock is in that mould.

Again, what is this "previous behaviour", what is different to an entire team downing tools on say, Mourinho? Isn't it just a reaction to being wrongly managed?

- Frees Emerson up to be sold (which = a few quid incoming and a non-HG space).
- Spares us the burden of signing a new back-up RB.
- HG.

A very pleasant summer surprise.

Djed Spence's special work

While those players were taking free-kicks and others were working on their passing and shooting, Djed Spence was being drilled individually by senior assistant coach Matt Wells.

The full-back was being put through his paces with an emphasis on trying to deal with Wells running alongside him as a winger, with Spence having to work on his body shape in order to prevent the Spurs coach from getting a cross away or move past him. They continued for a little while after the other players had finished.

Spence has been a surprise addition to this tour with his hard work on the training pitches not going unnoticed by the coaching staff and for now he remains a Tottenham player who will likely get game time against Vissel on Saturday.
Stopping Wells does not make him able of stop Salah or Saka or Gordon though

That's not really how training works though. He's already done well against Saka and Martinelli maybe Salah for Forrest. Wells isn't a proxy for those players firstly he couldn't keep up with Spence flat out. It will be about body shape and position most important (and someone did this with Rose because I watched him improve this immeasurably ) about distances. When to tackle, how much space to leave between the box and the deadball line.

Funnily enough if your player has the physical attributes fullback - because of the line to your left or right - is a position you can coach players to elite at. The odd thing is Antonio Conte when committed to the job as he was at Inter was able to do exactly this with Victor Moses. Djed Spence 100% has the attributes to be an elite level player at fullback....but does he have the mentality?

We haven’t exactly seen enough of him to make a judgement

He maybe a good judge of character, but calling a player out in public is straight out of 1950’s man management!

Deal with it behind closed doors!
