If Richarlison can stay injury free he is an asset, he proved as much during his appearances last season . I say keep him and see how he does in what is now a settled Ange squad.
And that’s what we do,we keep players who might step up but never or rarely do. Fuck me can we just learn from the past. To name a few Ndombele,Sessegnon,Gi and Lo Celso. I’m confident Richy can join that list as he won’t start many games if he’s here next season especially when we sign a striker. I’d say Deki is in front of him now too.

There is always a “nearly” big signing with ENIC.

If you want to go back further you can throw in David Villa, Luis Fabiano, Arshavin (laugh if you will, he was a very good player that any Spurs fan can recall being excited about signing back in ‘08)
Or who could forget our legendary deadline day hunt for a world class striker in the winter of 2011.

A few times you could say it was genuine efforts by the club or we were just unlucky.
The perpetual nature of it however would lead any rational thinking person to conclude it’s 100% a ruse.
This one was so epic the club actually wrote about it themselves.

And they've been doing it ever since. Keep "trying" to sign unattainable players to drum up fan interest.

Genuinely perplexed by the weird faith people have in the even weirder looking Lange character. I've never looked at his work at Villa and thought this bloke is the business. And the he moves like a Ninja in the shadow crap is even funnier. It amounts to one line for Gold.. Strange AF fanbase 🤔

There is an element of truth in some of this but

Do you consider VdV and Romero as second and third tier signings?

I would rather them than a varane or casimero who are supposedly world class prem ready players

The clubs policy is clearly to be signing top young talent

Vicario, Udogie, are these not top players ? Or is it that they’re not expensive enough or enough of a household name?
The issue is mate is that this has always been the policy under ENIC. As long as ENIC have been here we’ve always signed players of the level go VDV, Vicario, young punts like Udogie, Sarr, Gil etc some of whom work out, many others don’t.

The idea that’s being peddled that we’ve changed our approach recently just doesn’t hold true.

Don’t find this to be reflective of the Richi situation - those players were never good for us whereas Pombo has been, he just needs a full, settled, and consistent season.

No, he didn't actually. Can't believe you've made me read that post again. Fact of the matter is that buying 2 players puts us on par with United, and above City, Woolwich, and Liverpool, but people here just like panicking, it's a lifestyle for some.
Why do people keep referencing City, Woolwich and Liverpool when they are trying to justify our window? You do realise they finished 31,23 and 16 points ahead of us respectively last season, and that was without us playing any European football?

Far be it from me to say, but perhaps they have reason to not need to act with quite the same level of urgency as we do in the window?
If any of them 3 teams had been as shit as we were for the majority of last season, and the last number of seasons for that matter, do you really think the only attacking option then would have added to their side would be Timo Werner on loan? It makes me laugh even typing it.

We finished miles behind them - shall we sit on our hands for another year and hope for the best? Plenty of urgency from fans who pay for a ST, if not you

What does urgency even mean though?

You want us to give our signings deadlines then if they don't meet it move onto other targets just because it hits some sort of arbitrary target to make the fans feel better?

Everyone wants players in early mate, literally every club on earth wished they signed players in way before pre season - that's not how it works though.

When we read that Lange was apparently the brains behind the Werner loan, basically the first player and deal he closed for the club, I had my worries. Imagine your first project for your boss trying to make a good impression and you bring them Werner.

He is in “prove it” mode until further notice.

Cause they are the best run clubs in the league, and fellow big six clubs, which makes them a good barometer.

Why do we need to act with urgency, and they don't? If buying players quicker makes you a better side, surely Liverpool and Woolwich would use this secret knowledge to surpass City, why are they resting on their laurels?
