No, he didn't actually. Can't believe you've made me read that post again. Fact of the matter is that buying 2 players puts us on par with United, and above City, Woolwich, and Liverpool, but people here just like panicking, it's a lifestyle for some.
What you describe as panicking can more reasonably be described as concerned.

We've seen this played before, matey.

And rather than using 4 other clubs who regularly win silverware as your benchmark, which is a bit silly, try asking yourself why every transfer window for your club ultimately results in another trophyless season and a disgruntled manager who eventually becomes another scapegoat.

Why do people keep referencing City, Woolwich and Liverpool when they are trying to justify our window? You do realise they finished 31,23 and 16 points ahead of us respectively last season, and that was without us playing any European football?

Far be it from me to say, but perhaps they have reason to not need to act with quite the same level of urgency as we do in the window?
If any of them 3 teams had been as shit as we were for the majority of last season, and the last number of seasons for that matter, do you really think the only attacking option then would have added to their side would be Timo Werner on loan? It makes me laugh even typing it.
That post alone is worth another TFC 🏆

...Do you genuinely think we struggle to win trophies because we don't sign players early in the window? Do you think Ndombele would've miraculously developed a work ethic if we signed him on the first day of the window? Maybe you think Lo Celso would've avoided his injury issues?

The fans are in a frenzy at this time of the transfer window, are the club close to any new signings to help you for the now this season?

"As you say, at this time of year it’s pretty hard for supporters because they don’t have all the information and it’s fair to say there’s plenty of misinformation out there.

We’re working hard to bring players in and it’s a process that you sometimes have to be patient with.

But in terms of what we set out to do, that’s still the plan and you have to stay disciplined with that.

Sometimes the timings don’t work out and it doesn’t happen as quickly as you want and you don’t get them in at the right time but I think it’s really important you stay disciplined and not run off and chase other things.

So, what we started with at the start of summer are still there, and I wouldn’t want to put timelines on it. A lot of that is out of our control and we just need to be patient.

From where I sit at the moment we’re still in that phase where what we identified is still what we’re after."

Whoever it is we're after, we've been after them since the start of the window. Toney maybe? Possibly Gyokeres but I doubt it.

I am not yet in panic mode , I think Bergvall and Gray will soon be first team / squad day players. I also thought Dragusin was decent signing . However we clearly need 3 or 4 players who are quality and the finished article , will we get them history says no .
We have 3 PL games up to September 1st then an international break followed by Woolwich , no way we should be doing deadline day bullshit deals . I think anything later than 12th August for key signings is going to be of little use in those early games . But because I am pleased with Gray, Bergvall and Dragusin I will allow myself to think we will do the right thing by Ange for a couple of more weeks .

Yes , I know I’m an ENIC out guy , but there is plenty of time for my blood pressure to go through the roof . I intend to enjoy my holiday with my daughter and granddaughters before stressing about this window .

Which is great and its admirable in many ways we're sticking to our targets. But again this isnt for 1 player, its probably 3 or 4 and if selling clubs have been dicking around for weeks for whatever reason then there is every chance they will continue to do so. Things will never run smoothly, especially later in the window. Its then the panicked trolley dash if things dont work out that is my concern. That, more often than not, leads to shit signings

People have been marvelling, been jealous, wished we acted like our rivals literally every Summer transfer window, I can't even count how many times fans have looked at our rivals transfer business and said things like they're 'acting like a big club' etc...

So when we're in the same boat as them and aren't making signings why all of a sudden is it a problem now?

Doesn't that in fact tell you more about the market as opposed to it being a purely us problem?
