Are you seriously suggesting that making 46 appearances in Ligue 1 puts someone on a different level than that of someone making 44 appearances in the Championship?
Let's call that a wash then to be fair.

Are you seriously suggesting that a signing like Zirkzee is of the same level as a promising kid from Sweden? or South Korea?

I really don't want to see any more links with Gallagher or Ramsey. Fuck that. Give us a bombastic centre forward. Our midfield is stacked for a generation to come
I was literally coming here to post something very similar, I can't see how Ange sees us needing another CM even with Hojbjerg departing, we have Bentancur, Sarr, Bissouma, Bergvall, Gray and Skipp who can already play there, Skipp is the obvious one to get replaced but frankly do we really need to be spending £40m to replace a backup CM? Will Gallagher get in the team ahead of Sarr, Bentancur (who could look miles better having been fit for a while now and a full preseason) and a potentially refreshed Bissouma, who should have had the adequate time to get over the malaria he caught at the AFCON? If he is coming in, does it not obstruct the pathway to the first team for the likes of Gray and Bergvall? We've already spent £40m on Gray, are we really gonna splash £80m on 2 players that can play CM without bringing in a striker or wide forward first? Feels to me like those are the far more pressing areas to improve on the pitch, and the time for bedding in is getting narrower as we draw closer to the first day of the season...

More Royal news:

Translated:
Milan is trying to close for Emerson Royal at 12 million euros + bonus. The idea is to reach around 15-16 million euros in total [including bonuses] but with a fixed base of 12-13.In these hours the Rossoneri club is negotiating above all on the variable part of the deal.Tottenham have always asked for a figure of around 20 million in total but Milan is working to further close the gap.

This is such a waste of fucking time when we have so much more pressing deals to do.

I work on transactions of multiples of this amount and I know how much time it takes. I don't know how much manpower we have to be working on the fine details of 6/7 deals at the same time, maybe it is 80% outsourced.

Even so just reach a fucking agreement and move on. It's taken weeks for something which should have been settled over a phone call.

I'm sure the post was about being as active as them 2 not signing the same players as them. By the way, both dud filled clubs made cup finals last year and one of them even won one. Bloody jokers.

They can be as active all they want, they've been active in the past and they've ended up buying shite...the reason is because they've had no plan and continually throw shit at the wall, they're not the example.

Good for them and I'll point out 2 of the other 3 clubs actually won real trophies.

Real Madrid had lined up Yoro as their long-term CB but wanted him on a free. United stepped in with a lot of dough to snatch him with a year left on his deal.

There is clearly a top table that we are not dining at. Gray is a great prospect but not at the same level as Yoro in terms of being on the radar of the elites of the game.

In recent years I'd say Romero was the only real signing that you felt we went toe to toe with the top teams and won (yes Bayern were in for Dragusin but that was a pretty low stakes deal at 25m). Perhaps Ndombele before that.

This is the hill you want to die on is it? You really think Man Utd are the example to follow in the transfer market.

Tell me which transfer over the past few years particularly have you been impressed with?
You seem to have trouble comprehending or maybe it's because you don't want to.

I'll say it again slowly for you, being as proactive as others around you doesn't mean making the same signings as them. It means being proactive in terms of getting the signings you have deemed necessary to give the team the best chance of success in the season ahead.

Completely agree on priorities.

My concern is that we have clogged the frontline with such mediocrity that we will struggle to make space to add an elite forward in there.

It just doesn't feel like the sales of Richy, Johnson or Kulu are possible so we are stuck with them.

We are all clinging to the hope that Solomon is shipped out and some top attacker is brought in but there have been no rumours of that and Ange is giving him plenty of minutes in pre-season. Also he was signed under Ange so for all we know he rates him (he did sign off on Johnson and Werner after all).

We can't be compared to City, Liverpool, and Woolwich, but we should have our transfer startegy compared to Chelsea's of all clubs? The club that has a completely bizarre transfer strategy, that is like that of no other club? I'm sorry, but are you fucking developmentally stunted?

We've made the same number of transfers as United, in what world are Yoro and Zirkzee on a different level to Gray and Bergvall?

Man calls me “developmentally stunted” but then goes on to claim an 18 year old Championship midfielder (as promising as he may be) and a 18 year old Swedish midfielder who has never played outside the Swiss league are somehow on the same level as one of the top CB talents in world football that has played a full season in League 1 that Real Madrid wanted and a full Dutch international (who would in all likelihood be the best striker at Spurs if we had signed him)
It may also have escaped your notice that United are trying to sign De Ligt and Ugarte whilst we’re linked with Jacob Ramsey and Conor Gallagher.

I wasn’t 100% sure before if you were on a wind up, but now I’m absolutely certain.

I left out the Madrid talk because there'd no doubt be some excuse or reason why it was beneath us instead of the glaringly obvious.

Sadly I don't think he's on a wind up, I think he genuinely believes the crap he's coming out with.

Lol

We gazumped Bergvall from Barcelona. Both him and Gray are top prospects, I don't think Yoro is on a different level to them.

Real didn't rate Yoro enough to pay what UTD offered tho...

UTD pay higher wages than us so would be higher up the list for established stars but we could have easily competed with them for Yoro if we had wanted to.

Don't forget Bergvall was very nearly a Barca player.

We aren't ever signing Osimhen or Kvaratshkeli but we are one of the best destinations in the world for young players.

Ironically you saying this you should probably heed you own advice and maybe work on your comprehension, I haven't said anything about making the same signings as them, read the exchange again.

The point you seem to have wilfully missed is that Chelsea and Utd are comparable to us which is a load of bullshit regardless because if we're at different stages than Liv/Cit/Ars then we're sure as hell at different stages to Chels/Utd and also using those clubs as a barometer of how we should be acting is stupid because recent history tells us they've got a lot more wrong than right.

Hoping it's just a case of our name being used to speed along the Atletico deal considering we were a very popular choice of agents and the media to do just that in the past, don't know how Ange can be satisfied with our options on the left or up front as it stands, we have no adequate cover or replacement for Richy, whom despite dividing opinion on here, we have played much worse when he's been injured or out of form under Ange. Son is the wrong side of 30 and blows hot and cold more now than he ever has before in his career. We desperately need some revitalisation in those areas of the pitch, even if Ange does class himself as satisfied with BJ and Kulu as our RW options.
