When was the last time he broke a Spurs transfer before anyone else reported it?

He didn't even have a clue about Gray.
Dargusin and Pedro Porro if my memory serves me correctly.

Also you're missing a key point- it's not about being the first to report it. I could make up rumours linking every in form player with every elite club and I'd eventually be right about some of them and claim to have broken news.
What's more important is % accuracy, and that is where Romano stands out. So it is clear he has genuine contacts within the football industry.

Funny how some believe the good rumours and try and brush off the shit ones. Not saying we'll sign him of course but that is the first proper link to a senior player we've had all summer with 4 weeks of the window left. Lets hope he's wrong and there is someone else more likely.

P'OK had reported in May we had a list of strikers that Solanke was in (along with Gimenez, Toney, Guirassy, Openda Gyokeres and David).
The fact that Romano is reporting this shows that now we have made contacts with some agents/intermediaries of Solanke. A significant step, but I'm hoping we're also exploring those other options to a greater degree.

hes a good player, for a side competing 14th-7th. not sure hes good enough to be classed as a top 6 striker.
There are just not many really good No 9s in world football currently. He scored 19 for little old Bournemouth last season, was largely considered one of the most talented players to ever come through Chelsea’s academy, made the wrong move to Liverpool at a young age. Richy has never scored more than 13 league goals.

Of course he has contacts.

But the tweet has said absolutely nothing that Paul OKeefe confirmed back in May about striker targets and who we were after.

Therefore, it's a bullshit tweet and he hasn't got a clue.

Why do people hate the Solanke links so much? He's a decent player, 19 goals while playing for Bournemouth is pretty damn good.
Realistically though, he'd cost about as much as Gyokeres.

No it matters because they both have different sources.
Paul O'Keefe's source is someone internally at the club- who revealed Solanke was on a list of strikers.
Romano reporting that now shows it's materialised to Spurs making contact with an agent or intermediary.

Because Patrick Bamford managed 17 goals for Leeds once.

Solanke was impressive last season. But he still has just 29 Prem goals in 134 at the age of 26....

So it's hard to know if it was a one off or if he actually has gone up a level. And I'm not sure that gamble is worth it.

We need an Ali G rumor squash tweet!

Bet we don’t get one.

Solanke is about the speed of Levy and the board. Him or Toney. They don’t have the status to sign Osimhen. Gyokeres they probably could but if they want more than 60m it’s not happening.

Only thing I’d say about Solanke is that B’muff have been spending. It would tie in with the idea that we were waiting for them to get deals done before they gave us the green light.

During COVID though, that doesn't really count. He's outscored Gyokeres in the Championship, and in his defence has mostly played for really shit teams.

Ey?

Nothing in Romanos tweet suggests that at all.

"he's amongst targets"

As we already knew from May by POK

"difficult deal"

As we already knew because Bournemouth want 60m for him...

"no formal bid"

So, pointless tweet then.

"exploring options to bring a striker in"

Ah right. I'm sure in the next few days or week, he may even name drop David or Toney again (other targets POK mentioned)

I guess we'll see.
