At 26 and coming off of knee surgery, I think, how is Gyokeres who hasn’t played above the Portuguese League and Championship after he was sold by Brighton (a team renowned for their development of young hidden talent) any less of a punt than Solanke?

As you can tell from my user and avi, I'm a big Richy fan. I think Solanke would be a significant upgrade tbh. He changes the type of physical threat we pose, he presses as well or even better than Richy and he can play 38 prem games.
Love Richy but if we do have concerns about his fitness, this is a very smart move.
would rather see cheisa myself. think if he can be fit hed be a menace in this league. reminds me a bit of tevez, got the dog fight in him and the quality.
Solanke all day every day
Ask a group of fans if Solanke is the missing link that is difference between top 6 and winning a title and I suspect only about 15% wouldn't laugh
Toney's best season in the PL and Championship are both better than Solanke's.
Now do the same with the other strikers on the market, you'll probably get the same results.

If I trusted the club to save the money and go after their primary target in 12 months, I’d say neither and stick with Richie.
As that’s unlikely, probably Solanke. Maybe. I dunno.
Before last season his record in the PL was poor- 6 goals in 22/23 and 3 goals in 19/20.
He wasn't included in the England squad, and nor was there a clamour for him to go from the PL viewing public.

Solanke also underperformed his xG last season- was 19.6 and he scored 19 goals.
And include a total of 17 penalties across both seasons.....

Also the ball doesn’t bounce off Solanke like it does Richy 50% of the time. His first touch is really average.

we have two wide forwards, a 10 and inverted full backs that push up so high and inside they basically become additional cams. the striker needs to be a box predator imo.
