I like him. Was last season a one off or is he just coming into his peak? He has great attributes though,he’s big and strong, decent touch, quick, good in the air and can obviously finish so what’s not to like??
Some players just can’t cut it at bigger clubs and I don’t know if he’s one of them. I remember Sigurdsson coming to Tottenham and I thought we were getting a star because he was class with his previous club but it just never happened. He just seemed to struggle with being at a bigger club but you thought he’d thrive.

Going back to the striker situation,Gyokeres has been my number one all summer and I mentioned him last season in the Kane thread about bringing him in. The money is the money so if he’s what we want then just go get him. To be honest though and he’s more than just an out and out number 9 and would give us different options in our play.

Fully agree on Solanke. Those are the questions that our scouting department and Ange need to answer not us. Ange has probably already spoken to him so if we really are interested then he will be confident that he's got the chops to work with him. Not much more we can expect as fans.

As for Gyokeres, if he's 80m and they are sure I'd hope this club has the conviction to do it. I'm just not sure that Levy will ever sign off on a transfer that big. I know we'd apparently agreed a 90m fee for Lautaro Martinez once but that never actually happened.

This is indeed a fun fact.

Another one is that he was the best pressing forward in the Premier League last year.
I've been a big fan of solanke for a while for some reason i seem to watch a good amount of Bournemouth's games and hes impressed me especially since iraola took charge.

For what it's worth I actually think he's 15 goal a season rather than a 20+ goal a season striker.

he doesn't really have a weakness he creates loads for his team as well, but Bournemouth miss loads of good chances.

He's an excellent set piece defender for an added bonus too.

We also have a brand spanking new stadium said to change the way we operate in the market if the best is solanke then what was the point this is sort of signing we would have made in 2002.
I’m here to tell you that Osimhen isn’t who you think he is, at all.

Brilliant athlete but I wonder how he’ll get on when he discovers he can’t run over everyone physically in the Prem like he does in Serie A - that was the reason he struggled in AFCON and Lukaku was horrible on his return to Chelsea.

The Gap between Osimhen and Solanke is way smaller than the people imagine.

Nobody is exactly falling over themselves to pay Napoli’s price…

Not saying osimhen the one I want is at Newcastle if we are willing to spend 65 on solanke I would go the extra mile and go all in for isak. Napoli will never get 120 mill for osimhen unless someone stupid pays like Woolwich. For how we play isak is the best one to get 6 foot 4 pace scored a shitload last season and chips in with assists. And way more technically sound then solanke

You know for sure, 1000% he won't score loads of goals again next season?

Don't be (or at least display) being total fucking imbecile.

You know very well that I and no one else knows that right now.

All I know is that he is soon 27 yo striker who has had ONE good season in EPL and who has never ever in his career stood out by any ability whenever I've watched his team play. But as someone correctly pointed out, there have been loads of such strikers in past 10 years who have one good season and then totally faded. Everything considered I find that likelyhood of Solanke being next in that line is very significant.

I suppose this explains Milan's interest in Royal. The Korean players found him physically intimidating.

I'm starting to get that feeling, once the season starts the wheels are going to come off.
Real concerns over how easily teams get through us, I know it is only friendlies but, just like last season too many goals conceded.
Seems very naive in trying to outscore the opposition each time.
