Can’t believe the negativity here. Ange is a legend already. At the start of last season we were written off by every pundit as relegation possibles because we had just lost Kane. We played some of the best football I’ve ever seen in the premier league. New players like Udogie and VDV were brilliant. Injuries scuppered our top 4 chances not naivety. We have a bundle of new talent coming through to fill the injury gaps.

I have to assume the ‘Ange out’ crew don’t understand football or are Gooners
Statue on the way.

Pep grinds out wins.

Every single premier league champion grinds out wins.

If you are expecting swashbuckling wins with incredible free flowing football every week in the premier league you’ve lost all connection with reality and you’ll be disappointed no matter what manager we have and what players we sign
Nice strawman, it's either parking the bus or incredible free flowing football every single week right? Nothing exists in between those 2 of course.

By the way, you seem to have a habit of referring to premier league champions, is that what you're expecting under this manager and if so when?

Even our worst performances were more fun to watch than Jose or Conte.
This is why I can’t you seriously. You’re a decent poster but your Postecoglou love-in is a bit embarrassing. Not sure what he’s done to win your blind support, but hey you do you.

But how you actually rate our performances away at Chelsea and Newcastle, two sides that had more injuries than available players as more fun to watch than Conte is beyond me. Those were some of the most dreadful games I’ve watched in the last 10-15 years of Tottenham, up there with the embarrassment of getting knocked out by Zagreb or Colchester in League Cup.

Conte had some great games to watch in the first 6 months I give you that. I was more referring to the durge he served up in his first full season after that brutal pre-season.

Conte's first half season is quite easily the best football we've played over a 6 month period since the early Poch years. Couldn't give less of a shit if it was with a back three or low block and counter football.

There really is a blind hatred for Conte because he's ex Chelsea.
We were a proper force under him when we galloped up the league. We looked fucking devastating at times and ripped teams apart.
Woolwich, Everton, Newcastle, City away, Leeds, Norwich. It wasn't just because we had Kane. It was because we exploited space rapidly and effectively.
How anyone was watching that football and wasn't enjoying it is only explainable by bias.

Sure, the following season was a hell of a chore. But there were mitigating factors all season. Death, illness, Spence, etc. It was a total cluster fuck. Yet we still were happily 3rd when he was sacked.

People should really have a look at that team too. It was Kane, Son, Romero and bunch of mid fucking players. And I'm being generous.

Sessegnon Emerson Dier Davies Hojbjerg Moura

Like seriously, he got 4th with that rabble 😂

Admittedly he was given Kulu and Bentancur in the January window but those two were considered Juve rejects at the time. Nobody was fighting us for their signatures and both hit their peak form for us under Conte.

Ange then has 250m spent on him last summer and an entirely new squad and people want us to feel sorry for him? For him? Do me a fucking favour lol.

Go take a look at the team Mourinho had 3 years ago then come back. Man's probably looking at Spurs now and absolutely WISHES he had Romero, VDV and Dragusin to choose from at CB, as opposed to Dier, Rodon and Davies ffs.

Ange has never had it so good.

And don't get me started on the shit Poch had to put up with. Zero net spend for 5 years and somehow had us competing for titles.

I'm so bored of this transfer window I've actually started looking past Ange already lol. I highly doubt he'll even get half a season if things don't work out early. This squad has Poch-in-waiting all over it. It's primed for him to have a second go, he's not getting a big job anywhere else again and Levy loves managers who are currently down in their value. Then there's the obvious injection of young talent in the squad, we all know his record there.

Ange's insistance on suicidal football will be his downfall if he chooses to be as stubborn as he was last season. I can totally see our current defence back in the hands of a manger who gave us our best defensive record in Premier league history. It would be an obvious fix for a manger who wouldn't compromise on our attacking prowess in the process. Our current backline, if used properly, could be as good as any we had under Poch the first time around. Also, when Romero inevitably gets tapped up by the Madrids of the world, Poch will be the only one to potentially get him to stay so long as he takes over early enough.

If Ange turns it around, great - and I say turns it around because our momentum towards the end of last season was shocking (we all know where we placed in the 2024 only table). If he f's off then we get the second coming of Poch which is the best we can do given no European top 5 league elite manager in their right mind would shake hands with Levy, hence why Ange got the job in the first place (he was not a first, second or even third choice candidate).

Well that's my cope for next season. I hope you have yours lol.
