How Dry should our Powder be?

He's a great runner. But that means from the entire squad, we have 1 player capable of doing it in midfield.

That's alot of pressure on a 22 year old with known back issues.

I understand we have alot of midfielders but I think within the next 12-18 months, both Bissouma and Bentancur will be gone. Whilst Lo Celso will have already left.

Solanke seems to be this weeks talk so I had a look at his last years showreel. Was a bit more impressed than expected to be. Might be a better fit than Toney. I would still prefer Gyokeres or David

intriguing, so he flat out said he wanted to join? guess that means this is likely his final season then if we want to get big money since he'll just have the two years to run.
very good player but strangely im not fussed
100% said he wanted to join and 100% Ange was aware (I can't say 100% Levy was aware because I don't know but I presume he was).

Like I said, I said this at the time and was laughed at. You would think people would see in my 10 plus years on here being a regular poster I've never ever claimed to be itk(in fact I hate them and ridicule them more often then not) that I wouldn't just make shit up.

If I say I'm 100% sure ...I'm talking in a literal sense...literally 100% sure this happened. How does one get to be 100% sure of something?

anyway it's whatever. It looks like he's staying now so we move on.

But we got MADDs in well early. Johnson was last day job at inflated price. So someone at the club must have pushed for it. To me that must have been Ange otherwise he could have said let’s leave it for now.
I'm not a Brennan fan, but I think without someone to do that Angeball RW role, we would have finished a lot lower in the table. So the panic buy makes sense from where we were late in the TW.

The mistake was arguably not getting someone better, sooner. Who knows where that fell down. But given that that didn't happen, we were a bit cornered and ended up over-paying for Johnson.

We seem to have the same problems we had at the end of the season. No back up to VDV unless you count Davies, no back up to Udogie, although Ange tried several options during preseason. Maybe we have sorted the back up to Maddison. I cannot see these problems will be dealt with as we need all our resources to sort the lack of fire power up front.
I have seen more hopeful reports that we will get someone in but with no pre season with Ange will it be after the International break in September that we start to see him functioning as Ange wants.

Sometimes when we play a bottom half PL team we come up against a good striker and I wonder how they got him, ( afforded him). VDV was unknown to me and has turned out a very good buy. Our Scouts should be able to find someone that fits the bill and he should be here now.

Um... what+

"No backup to VDV"? But we brought Dragusin who was one of the stand-out performers for Romania in Euros?

And regarding Udogie, the backup is Davies for now.

So for LB and LCB we have - Udogie, VDV, Dragusin, Davies and only then we come to less conventional options like Donley. Plus I've got the sense that Spence situation is up in the air and he could get some kind of a chance for us?

But even without him I see 4 options for 2 positions here. Not exactly like for like, but most teams don't have.

I like Ederson who can play across midfield. Any ideas, was thinking Ugarte but United seem to have him in their sights.

The full extract goes on the contradict all that.

What positions/players are they looking at?

Tottenham have also been looking at a new No 8, an energetic midfielder to play alongside James Maddison.

At the start of the window, they worked on a potential move for Jacob Ramsey, but they could never agree a fee with Aston Villa, who ended up selling other players to help them comply with PSR. Postecoglou has been a big admirer of Conor Gallagher and Spurs have always had an eye on his situation at Chelsea, but he is now going to Atletico Madrid instead.

It remains to be seen whether Spurs will look for another option in this area of the pitch in the final weeks of the window

How did you find out?

They were big before the advent of the EPL when it didn’t take a billion pounds to jump tiers as it does now.
They were probably the three biggest teams in England before Lewis and his cohorts bought a mid-table club.

Two of them — you’ll hopefully figure out which two — had major markets with little or no competition.

Stick to baseball, man. With your unrelenting negativity, you’re probably a Mets fan.
Man United and Liverpool grew by using their considerable financial resources to strengthen themselves whilst simultaneously weaken their rivals. United especially deployed this tactic. Both clubs grew after the wage cap was removed in the 60's. Before then the competition for cups and titles was far more spread out. After it, it whittled the competition down to about 10 teams.

If people don't get most of what I say is just twisted humour, then that's a them problem.

Glad some do get it though.

Dragusin is better on the right and therefore Romero’s back up. With Royal going and Phillips not ready we were said to be looking for another CB.

I think people are harsh on Brennan Johnson. His return last year was respectable for a first season. He's just become the scape goat for a lot of people.

- Lower wage bill than Villa & West Ham last season
- Many outgoings this window now too
- Highest ticket prices in Europe
- 30 events at the stadium, different activities too

But still no quality signings. Levy is the biggest con man🤦‍♂️

I know we will have to wait and see, but it’s starting to look as if, the club are trying to take advantage of situations rather than, back the manager fully with his requests.

Who has lost what and where?
I have repeated number of times that "I feel we should have done more by now".
Never said that sky is gonna fall and Spurs gonna get relegated. So maybe reconsider who cannot keep emotions and imagination in check, mate :) ?

Initial post I quoted you were calling out people who feel club should have done more. So yea, I responded to it to ask - why cannot fan of the club want and maybe even expect more.

No one said you couldn't?

Nick Young Wtf GIF

I think I've figured it out.
Levy is watching everyone here tear into eachother and laughing his moobs off.

It takes all the attention away from him - we need to focus on the real problem. It isn't the fans. It's the top of the club.
