Shotgunofmichalebrow Shotgunofmichalebrow look out!

Last season we scored 22 goals less than the best attacking side and conceded 32 goals more than the best defensive team. Seems like we need improvements everywhere, not just up front.

Have a feeling Levy is going to do us dirty like he usually does. I think we will sell Richarlison and probably buy Solanke as his replacement which is fine, but that will be us done in the window. So basically still not really added much strength and still left short. Just be a replacement rather than adding even more quality. The usual bare minimum from Spurs.

We play a very high line like Klopp’s Liverpool. That means we need big quick defenders (got) and fast physical attackers (don’t have) in order to score more goals and also prevent lots of counter attackers.

Our lack of attacking balance fucks both our defence and attack. Have a front of Son, Johnson and Werner means the ball will come back at us with pace a lot, not saying they are bad players just it’s not a balanced front line whatsoever.

Nah, we'll get atleast two in

The defence was good when our top defenders were playing, just broke down when they were injured.
We seem to have slightly more depth for this season
It wasn’t good was it?? We were conceding worrying goals and chances against everyone including all those “easy” fixtures at home when we had everyone fit.
Then we had 4 out of 5 out of our best defenders available (just Udogie out) and conceded a bucket load at Craven Cottage, St James’s Park and Anfield.
As some of us would contend, that’s a combination of Ange’system and the lack of a quality CDM to cover

SC: Dragon1:

The only players we are being linked with are now forwards

the likely scenario today is Solanke and neto

we have made two significant bids for eze but palace want 65-70 and almost all up front
we let Nile John go as we can’t keep all the kids and we rate Devine and donley higher

D1 in response to someone asking if we will bring in another CB:

We will not be buying another center half anytime soon , we have three world class center half’s and Dorrington , Philips and luka vuskovic coming through

we were looking at full backs but Spence and donley have had great pre seasons

I voiced my opinion back of house on Solankie earlier today. Based on snippets of information and admittedly not all that much substance, I think he's being lined up as the fall back option, as we are definitely in contact. My man thinks we have someone else is in mind but it's being well hidden. Normally when there is a mystery man in the mix, kept under wraps, it's because he is the primary target.

Guess we will find out shortly.

This bellend never gets anything right and is now posting cryptic nonsense. However he works for the Telegraph so must surely get one story correct?

This is on the back of reports coming out of Saudi Arabia that a deal has been agreed. No idea how legit the source is.

Edit - The translation:

The recruitment committee has concluded its agreement with the English club Tottenham to include the Brazilian player Richarlison in the club's ranks #الاهلي after it had previously concluded its agreement with the player permanently.

The committee is waiting for the green light from the Al-Ahly Club Sports Committee to sign the official contracts

Personally I see us not signing another player this window and maybe even selling Richarlison if we can.

The fact is there is just little to no noise about players coming in. The Solanke transfer even has very little noise around it.

The fact is Archie Gray transfer was done so quick was because Brentford already negotiated the price. The noise around transfers normally comes when negotiating the price.

Who knows?

Again,, when our back five was fully fit and on the pitch at the same time they conceded a grand total of:

*drumroll*

11 goals from open play in the 17 games they shared the pitch together.

So on average, that would be 25 goals over the course of a season. That puts that in the pretty damn good defence category.

Issue last season was set pieces and depth being Davies, Royal and Dier at times.
