Could say the same of Gyökeres tbf. Would need to spend something like 100m+ for something more certain and Spurs just aren’t that club.

15 open play goals in 3 seasons?
Going 10 straight without scoring?
Are you sure?
He’s in … .. he’s totally whiffed it
I don't think it has to be someone that we've been linked with. All the links are broken/ guesses.Doue is the only one from those teams. And he's off to one of Bayern/PSG.
There is Locko, who is the left back we've been linked with who's currently at the Olympics but probably one for later in the window as not particularly important.
We were recently linked with Richardson who plays for Morroco. Who are still there as they play for a bronze medal
Solanke used to go watch Woolwich when he was younger too.
So just following in the footsteps of the great man himself.

Confirmation that we're trying to get it done this week.

April 24th…..Solanke is a target man that’ll score goals but won’t take us to another level.
No one was asking for him or mentioning his name before we were linked. Facts.
I’m all in on Solanke this summer. Been impressed by him every time I’ve seen him this season and would hope he has it in him to step up a level.
Saying that, I’d not be too perplexed if we spunked a load of cash on Osimhen, Vlahovic or Lautaro Martinez instead.
Also, still very impressed by Antonee Robinson this season. Pretty sure he’d be up for POTY awards if he played for a bigger side.
Except for the obvious Tanguy, GLC, Gill, Sess, I’d keep most of who we have. Borderline players like Skipp and Rodon would continue to add fine depth for more matches next season. Particularly Rodo, if he is happy to hang around. Unsure we could buy a fourth choice CB for the money we’d get for him, or the low salary I assume he’s on.
Totally agree. The talking up of Solanke is way OTT. He's a modest improvement on Richarlison but noticeably not injured all the time. Fine, its a bit of a shitty striker market this summer. But if its just him and an injury prone Neto that is nowhere near good enough particulaly if Richarlison goes. We need an Eze type and another quick left sided utility defender. Do that and Solanke looks a lot more palatable.I’m reasonably happy with Solanke in truth, I don’t think he’s a needle mover but I’ve always quite liked him and he’s a definite improvement on where we’re at. He’ll be good for us.
I guess my only concern is the fee. I really really would like us to bring in:-
1) a CF
2) A Neto-esque wide player who can beat a man
3) Eze
If signing Solanke at 60m (ish) precludes us doing either of the other 2, I’d be inclined to take either Toney or David instead (who I think are inferior but not by a mile) at lower feels to ensure we get the 3 new players in that I think we need.
Quality in wide areas and MF have been a priority over a CF for me…..
Happy with Solanke but my view of the transfer will ultimately be determined by the other pieces that follow.![]()
April 16th in response to a report linking us to Solanke
One of the few strikers that's worth replacing Richarlison with.
Changed it for you....although reading back my edit might explain why it sometimes tastes like shit.I bet they don't have bottom leaking pints at the stadium though!![]()
Haha this guy it taking pelters, I gotta rate the stubborn insistence...this is exactly the reason why others didn't want to name any names because they know they their suggestions would have been mocked![]()
My favourite player ever was probably Riquelme. Complete opposite of pressing and athleticism, just a wonderful footballer that always had time and did his tingNot many players like that now sadly. Isak and Olise two that spring to mind but not many. Its all about athletes, pressing and possession at all costs which is why football has mostly got really bloody boring.
Whereas as mysterious 21-year-old scoring shedloads against farmers excites the fanbase, comes in, scores a couple and then gets totally overwhelmed by the intensity of the PL and melts away.Don't worry we will get a more expensive English tax average player like Solanke and he will do shit, because he is bang average . And because he's got a few goals for the first time in his career at his age our fans think he's a great player. Fan base is lost, clapped, deluded
