I rarely wer gloves at all, let alone when playing football. But there is a little bit of science to it, especially if you have bad circulation.

Your extremeties get coldest first. Fingers hands and toes are the worst. I don't struggle with cold, but I've seen people who's hands go blue at modest temperatures.

I'm cool with that thinking in theory as we've recruited some absolute dross during ENIC's reign. But we do also need numbers imo. I've been watching last season's games back this past couple of months and it struck me just how thin our quality options were. We actually played better than I'd remembered but we lacked depth when players were out injured.

We have to replenish and improve what we have/had. Two or three good quality signings won't be enough. Injuries will happen and we'll be back to square one.

Having watched our superb youngsters recently, I have some hope for the future so am not totally doom and gloom, but we need to fatten up asap. Some of our rivals are having a stinker of a TW and it would help to see this as a window of opportunity rather than indulge in hand-wringing caution. Before we know it, they'll get back on their horses and we'll be no further forward in our challenge.
I totally agree that we need more quality signings.

Good post.

Lennon is so small I don’t believe he technically has extremities.

If you consider that we’ve sold Richy in this scenario, and Gil as well, we’ve actually downgraded our depth in the front 3.

Solanke is probably slightly better than Richy, but he’s not some world beating upgrade. I feel like the staff is overreacting to preseason. It’s way too optimistic. Lankshear Bergvall and Moore look great for their age but it’s not fair to lean on them as reliable squad options over a 50 match season. We are relying heavily on an aging Son to be the danger man year round and shockingly Timo bloody Werner.

If it’s Solanke and Neto it’s better but Neto is about as physically reliable as Lo Celso. Injuries will happen under Ange his style is way too intense. It all feels like we’re going to go to a crucial EL or Cup tie with Werner-Lankshear-Johnson and get embarrassed.

I dont understand how anyone cant see it like this. Honestly, if we go into the season without a couple of top draw attacking options, based on how we were once teams figured us out after Christmas, we will finish the season 8th or 9th at best. The attack just isnt good enough to defend from the front with the tactics we play, which are so childishly open.

Gary Jacobs reported it didn't he?

Stop. Believing. Jacobs.
Gary Jacob was pretty decent iirc? He was the first on Bissouma I remember. Maybe he’s gotten worse though as I remember him being wrong on Orban last summer.

Ben Jacobs is also full of hot air so I’d agree with you on that. Maybe just ignore the both of them.

In no way does signing a new striker mean Richie is free to leave. That's ridiculous.

It absolutely does.

It would take special kind of idiot to let 60 m EUR player rot on the bench.
He hasn't fullfilled even quarter of expectations and such players have to be moved on before they become worthless.

That's how clubs with ambitions operate; unless they have some oil-rich sugardaddy and dubious sponsorship deals. Just look at Aston Villa and Diaby. Or Bayern and Mane or Gravenbach.

Literally the alternative would be to keep him as substitute player and see him sold for 10 mil in 2 years time. So whenever there will be offer 30+ mil EUR from Saudis, he has to be on his way out, granted we'll get a suitable ST in.

Not at all.

There are people whose posts show a genuine interest in the club and how we play.

Then there are people like Doom Funk who only make chippy, sarcastic posts for laughs and show no interest in how we can become better and what happens on the pitch.

There is a world of difference between a Deuterz Deuterz and a Doom Funk Doom Funk

The most pointless person on the forum, just continually mocks his own club he supposedly supports, adds absolutely nothing to chats/debates, a nothing poster.

I hope Ange isn't over thinking this Solanke signing. Going for someone because he 'fits the system' rather than the more obvious talent (Toney).

Last year still bugs me that maybe Ange chose Brennan over Palmer.

Fixed.

:pochsmirk:

The manager wants to win us the League, maybe he's deluded as well.

Pay peanuts, get monkeys.
Manager says what he's paid to say. All the fanbois think he's a miracle work worker that believe the crap he yaps. He's just saying what he's been told to say because the club know what the fans want to hear.
Not too keen on the new league cup sponsor
TBF, unlike Carling and Carabao, I quite like a wank from time to time.

Solanke a lot better than Richi

Genuine target man, can hold the ball up well. Richi looked like he might after the 2-2 at United, but never again and maybe only then because MUFC players are useless pressers.

Solanke also a lot quicker. Most of the balls crossed along the 6 yd box aren’t converted. Brennan good at the far post but he’s bloody quick.

I was keen for Toney but the more I look at it then DS the best option imo.
