So tired of seeing own supporters giving fuel constantly to this "never winng team"-mantra, and making worn out jokes.

Isn't it enough our rivals do?

It's not a joke. It's an opinion that's substantiated by a considerable amount of evidence and track record.

As a lifelong fan, seeing spurs throw away opportunities to win hurts and there has to be a point where the countless managers, coaches, and players who have come and gone are no longer "the reason" for a reputation that this club now has

Admin Admin - second request to automatically change "ambition" to "rubber ducks". If I contribute will that make this more likely to happen?

Stop indulging the balcony-owning Frenchman.

He’s not a Spurs fan. Doesn’t give a shit about where the team ends up. Only time he demonstrates any visceral footballing concern is when France play.

And yet he has the front to attack and criticise other genuine fans who believe the club could and should be showing more ambition to win.

I don't use the term lightly, but he's the worst kind of troll we get on here.

Any reason why you KNOWINGLY lied about our net spend in recent seasons?

Lying about how much we spend to suit your tired old narrative. That sounds a lot like trolling to me

Please can we have your top 3 criticisms of 2024 now?

It's nice when we all get along

There's clubs out there who we are currently rivaling in the league who haven't won fuck all for donkey's years yet their fans don't act like saps...yet our own fans peddle this woe is us/loser mentality and are happy to wear this Spursy tag like it's a fashion item in order to push the very same narrative, it's boring.

Nothing worse than fans taking the piss out of their own clubs and openly trolling those who happen show a bit of positivity about the club they support, weird behaviour.

I can’t remember how I felt then so I’m not going to make something up.

However Im saying your question is IRRELEVANT. Even if you assumed something in 2018, the verifiable reality of our football club is very different from 6 years ago and so drawing any inferences from then is not appropriate.

Well if you want to be disingenuous and pretend as if Spurs being the only club in premier league history to not sign a player in a calendar year was remotely a possibility for you then fine. Your non-answering will suffice.

And putting IRRELEVANT in caps doesn't make it so. It is entirely relevant, especially given you're assuming that I don't think we'll sign anyone. I'll quote you again:

Ive been on here less - are people seriously concerned we won’t bring in a couple of quality options?

I think people should take some time away from the noise.

Now tbf quality is subjective but to make my point clear so you don't make assumptions again, for a club who signed zero players for an entire year, I would not put it past them to not sign a couple of quality players for the remainder of this window. This club is more than capable defying belief in transfer windows. I have no idea where we will end up by the end of the transfer window, that was never my point. But to question whether people should be concerned about expecting multiple quality signings going forwards, yes, they have more than enough evidence to support a healthy level skeptism as to what this club defines as quality as well as what is enough.

This is exactly it. It’s not emotionally adjusted behaviour for people acting in good faith.

OK so let’s just do the depth here, assuming Richy leaves and Solanke replaces him

LW: Son, Werner, Solomon, Moore?
CF: Solanke, Son, Lankshear?
RW: Johnson, Kulusevski

That’s nowhere near good enough as last season just proved. IMO we need 2 new attacking signings (Solanke/Neto) and to keep Richy.

That's a slight improvement on last year though - the only outgoing is Gil who wasn't a consideration anyway. He's been replaced by Moore a player we will likely use - that's an improvement. If Lankshere is a squad option as described above then again that's an improvement as he effectively is additional cover that wasn't there before.

Then if Solanke is an improvement on Richarlson and is available for more games then again that's an improvement

There's zero way a "club with ambition" goes into a season with a brand new striker with 1 good season at Bournemouth being backed up by a youth academy prospect with 0 minutes of senior football.

No - that's not how a "club with ambition" operates. A "club with ambition" employs 2 experienced players in any given position and pushes them to compete - winner stays and loser is moved on and replaced...with another experienced option.

I reiterate - people have gone fucking nuts over these academy kids this summer for some reason. Outside of Kane, our academy barely produced anything above Championship quality since Ledley King - yet some of you think it's all of a sudden put out 4 top quality PL players?

Insane. If 1 of these kids becomes a credible squad player at THFC it will be a success. Most will be moved on to Norwich, Wolves, etc.

There are multiple top tier clubs in the PL, La Liga, etc that have multiple academy players in important roles in the first team. City has Foden and Rico Lewis. They had Cole Palmer and he moved on because they didn’t have room for him.

I don’t think it’s too much to ask to have one academy player move up and play an important role every couple of years.

If that’s the “improvement” we get from this window then it’s a marginal one at best, in a window where it was imperative to get a lot better. Jesus wept.

I think Ricky has mental health issues.

The first solution for him is to remove social media from his life. All of the shit talking by “fans” can get to players (just like multiple fatsos on this forum call him and other players “shit” and can’t even do 15 straight kick ups). I think he will do much better if he gets out of social media entirely.
