Richarlison has been physically and mentally where he would want to be for approximately 2 months of his time with us.. But for those 2 months, he was one of the most prolific striker in europe.

I just feel like pushing him out the door would've felt premature. For me, the first approach should be to try and see if we can get him back into that place for a sustainable period of time. If so, then we've got Brazil's number 9.

And the fact that he's turning down the possibility of a massive increase financially, because he wants to play for us. Maybe I'm soft, but that can't be taken for granted and I think that warrants us giving him a further chance.

Who the hell is Cyril Olives???

Will Ferrell Lol GIF

Well the thing is, we need 2 strikers!

We don't need 1 striker in, 1 striker out.

So i don't get this Richy out talk at all!?

Honestly, im still awfully underwhelmed by Solanke, add to that the extortionate over pricing.... (he is 27 in 1 month, only 1 good season still 65M even at 55m naaaaah!)

Regarding your post, one thing i will say at chavski scum very highly rated , excelled in his age range he was hampered there Jose Prickiniho n Antonio who refuse to blood young players, the former completely inept at it, this prob cost him a couple of yrs in development & negated him being ahead of the curve in his age group.

At Scouse wanks he only played three 90mins in PL n averaged only 27 mins on pitch per game over 21 PL matches (ok still only 20) but atleast there was a good attempt to blood him in , however with Mane / Salah, Firmino all in peak pomp he was never breaking through lets be honest. (20M for unproven player who was on a free & not breaking into 1st goo biz for Scouse, very good money for a player like him in 2017/18)

At Bournemouth excelled in champ for 2 seasons, however in PL his record is well below average..
  • Bournemouth : 113 PL Games - 28 Goals --- (19 of them only last season) .. 65M erm nah(27yr)
People may disagree i'd rather we get someone like Vlahovic, in terms of quality, consistency, age/potential/growth, value for money
  • Serie A : 184 games - 78 Goals --- 55M (24yr)
    • A proper Number 9,
    • A Strong n Powerful
    • Great in the Air / Great finisher
    • Hold up play
    • Great presser
    • Very good Stamina
    • Speed / Pace same as solanke

Solanke has 28 goals and 14 assists in 88 starts in the Prem for Bournemouth so about a 1 in 2 average.

Whilst improving every single Prem season hes played in...

Gamble, sure. But no more than signing a foreign striker who's done it in weaker leagues. Or someone like Toney, who had a worse goalscoring record at the same age.

But it's also failing to recognise other elements of the games he's excels in that you won't see in goalscoring or assisting stats.

His pressing. His defensive work from set pieces. His work rate. Strength and holding the ball up etc.

I think so far we signed 4 players, may be 1 is a starter if that for the new season who is not a striker or a forward player. I don't think the youth are good enough to make much impact. That's fine if fans and clubs are happy with P5 and no trophy BUT we won't get top 5 next season if teams around us in Villa, chelsea, Newcastle and manu strengthen their squads and we will fall behind.

Re signing Werner for another season tells all about ambition.

It’s a risk for sure however if he was from Spain and wasn’t English people would be getting hyped right now!
If he keeps his form from last season he can get 20+ Goals in an Ange team easily!

With Richarlson likely staying and Solanke or Toney coming its going to be that and a right winger. We can forget Eze and it will be Son/Werner/Moore left and Maddison/Kulusevski as the 10 (really dont like Kulusevski as a 10 though, thought he looked better up front). Only leaves one gap on the right. We just have too many numbers for anything else.

Difficult to see past Neto with all the noise but given his injury record Johnson will be playing a lot of games. Only other options i can think of Raphinha, Kubo or Bakayoko. Guess we might get a left back as well. All a bit average but if Neto stayed fit it would be a help. Not sure City, Woolwich or Liverpool will be looking over their shoulders though.

I am with you mate but have to keep reminding myself there’s still over 3 weeks of the window left so it’s not panic stations yet.

Despite the meltdowns on here, I can’t see us ending the window without 2 new additions in the front line.

All the reliable journos are saying the same thing really. We plan to be active with front line additions the priority.

Reading this place every day will drive you mad, it’s not good for the head !
We need much more than that!
