I suppose I should consider myself fortunate then but I can't help feeling that there must be something that can be done to stop the creeping rot....no idea what though...
Making places more aesthetically pleasing to the eye is a biggun. More green spaces and easier access to parks, greater plant and tree diversity, better aesthetic design of new buildings, green spaces and overall urban landscape, more colour less grey, local peeps in commercial areas taking greater responsbility to spruce up their shops with a regular lick of paint, etc, more social responsbility to not litter and clean up after yourself, more regular cleaning of streets by local council.

Unsuprisingly, there's a pretty strong correlation between mental health improving or declining amongst the general local populace depending on how lovely jubbly everything looks in the surrounding urban area

Southampton is a serious shit hole IMO, but at least the night life and shopping is decent enough for students
I've detested Southampton since I was a schoolboy, when we played in a Football tournament down there. We went out one night and had grown men trying to pick a fight with us, because they heard a London accent.

My boy has just finished a stint on a Cruise liner that was based there. It's one of those places where you feel uneasy, even during the middle of the day, as there were so many unsavoury characters just looking for a tear up.

I didn't necessarily want him to leave, but he will 100% run down his contract, won't he?
Yep, but contracts are two way we gave him the contract with the expectationhe was Kanes replacement so we need to back that judgement. Needs to get fit get off socials and put a shift in. I like the lad he's a heart on sleeve type but we need an alternative if that's Solanke so be it but get it done.

I was reading an article this morning about Bayern having problems bringing players in that all center around squad management and was wondering if that’s the basic issue with the lack of movement for the top clubs in the EPL.
Of course, given Levy’s strict fiscal policy (a euphemism), one can’t be sure it’s not just a matter of haggling over change BUT:

None of the promoted teams appear particularly interested in surplus top tier players.

Middling EPL clubs like Wolves are hamstrung by PSR

Europe is (almost) broke.

The Saudis haven’t turned on the ‘get out of jail free’ cards for getting aging, overpaid players yet.

Our specific situation is obviously not helped by delusions of grandeur from Reggie (who seems to think that Madrid are going to come calling) or by the brittleness (and stubbornness) of GLC.

Once the Europa games start we will need to use the whole squad. Hopefully Ange has learned you just cannot play the 2nd 11 in the Europa but need to rotate.
With 11 starters and 7 subs of which 3 should get mins and there will always be injuries at best 3 but at times last season much more. Therefore we need good cover throughout and especially up front.

Therefore we need a striker as well as Richie. Within the subs will be a few of the kids and if we are needing a late goal, I expect the attacking ones like Moore etc will get a chance. During the periods we are playing twice a week we should see 3 players not completing 90 mins and therefore starting the next match. How Ange manages rotation will be crucial and few should be guaranteed starters including Son.
