He's had a better season than Richarlison ever had. The main thing they have in common is that they're both from lower half clubs.
I want comparing like for like. As i said in the post its just for a big circa £60m signing it doesnt feel like a massive improvement to me or set the pulse racing. But now he's here, or almost here i hope he proves me wrong and gets 20+ goals next season.

Chris Armstrong was very good in his first season. Injuries killed him afterwards and Spurs fans never applied that context.
I was going to say my memory of Armstrong was that he was a pretty decent player for us back then in a very mediocre / mid table team. Les Ferdinand was the bigger disappointment as I recall. Though we did sign him when he was the wrong side of 30 and he had his injury problems too.

A happy thread it seems for now :)

No doubt there's gonna be a couple of people conspicuous by their absence, you know who I'm talking about, don't need to name them.

Seems like Solanke was always the target which is what I said and this has been on the manager but a couple of people were throwing melties at the board out of desperation, understandable though I guess.

Go and get me a winger now Spurs, maybe even 2 if you're feeling brave...

The good thing is with Solanke coming to Spurs and us breaking our Transfer record for him is at least we have a lot of patient fans here and i have no doubt they will all get behind him and help his confidence if he doesn't start off firing on all cylinders! :paraticiwink:

We seem to be keeping all our other forwards.

So Solanke coming in means he is replacing Gil and/or Solomon, both of whom almost anonymous, - so Solanke is a huge upgrade.

Solanke adds both goals and pressing, so we are a lot better off than last season .

If Lankshear stays on, at least until Christmas to see how he fares, he's another option who can come on for the last 30 mins against tired legs and cause havoc.

Are you happy that it took until a week before the season started to get in a player from Bournemouth, who had a release clause and who didn't play in any tournaments?

Seeing as he was always the target why did he have to miss out on a full pre-season with his new teammates, is that in the best interests of the team going forward?
