I want comparing like for like. As i said in the post its just for a big circa £60m signing it doesnt feel like a massive improvement to me or set the pulse racing. But now he's here, or almost here i hope he proves me wrong and gets 20+ goals next season. He's had a better season than Richarlison ever had. The main thing they have in common is that they're both from lower half clubs.
I was going to say my memory of Armstrong was that he was a pretty decent player for us back then in a very mediocre / mid table team. Les Ferdinand was the bigger disappointment as I recall. Though we did sign him when he was the wrong side of 30 and he had his injury problems too.Chris Armstrong was very good in his first season. Injuries killed him afterwards and Spurs fans never applied that context.
Armstrong had the wrong attitude and was lazy. I have ITK that when he was at Bolton, he just sat on his hotel room all day, pretending to be injured, ordering room service about 5 times a day.
Just take me fucking money!!!!
Ings ain't what he used to be. IYK . . .Forget about Solanke or Toney, it's gonna be Danny Ings on deadline day.
Both shit IMO. Decent winger gets 25 to 30 goals in 90 games.

In isolation it sounds terrible, but Bergkamp & Teddy were similar players. Armstrong was better for balance. I can understand the thinking at the time.We turned down Bergkamp to sign him. Although not his fault, it just means he was always dead to me,
Ferdinand & Shearer both had the advantage of being extremely athletic.Nah, they would have cooked. Like Ferdinand and Shearer, although similar, they worked it out.
Are you happy that it took until a week before the season started to get in a player from Bournemouth, who had a release clause and who didn't play in any tournaments?A happy thread it seems for now
No doubt there's gonna be a couple of people conspicuous by their absence, you know who I'm talking about, don't need to name them.
Seems like Solanke was always the target which is what I said and this has been on the manager but a couple of people were throwing melties at the board out of desperation, understandable though I guess.
Go and get me a winger now Spurs, maybe even 2 if you're feeling brave...
