Berbatov and Keane both had zero real pace and were one best PL strike partnerships. Honestly, anyone who doesn’t think those two could have played together is crazy.

Keane had some pace and was good at playing high and getting in behind the defence.
Bergkamp game was dropping off the cbs and playing through balls to the strikers to run onto hardly sherringham strength running onto through balls.
Getting away from my original point which was signing Armstrong instead of Bergkamp wasn’t a crazy as it sounds then as it does now

What did he do here that was better than Kane? Genuine question.

His final season was art. Miles ahead of anything Kane has done. He won us countless amount of points by scoring insane banger after insane banger.

Then we have taxi for Maicon (and the hat-trick at the San siro) and the fact he could destroy people down the line or he could run through the middle. He could also score headers or worldies.

Peak Bale was an unstoppable force. He had so many weapons. The only thing Kane has over him is availability due to less injuries. And that he got his huge move earlier. But he was better.

I have never felt the same way about when a Spurs player gets on the ball the way I felt when Bale got it.

Haha. Funny.

Bale gave us one, maybe 2 if you’re being generous seasons at his best here, then fucked off at the first opportunity.

Kane stayed here for every one of his peak years, scoring countless goals and winning games on his own.

I loved Bale. Still do. But to claim he was better than Kane is just ridiculous.
That’s a different conversation

But even then Bale won a trophy here if we want to talk record.

I was talking quality of player. The best footballer I’ve seen in my 43 years of life at Spurs is Gareth Bale

I do think Modric is up there in terms of footballing ability.

But from a pure gets you out of your seat, take the game by the scruff of the neck and win you it player. Bale is tops. Easily.

The level he went to was scary. I remember a performance against Newcastle at home. Just absolute peak Bale. Ran the game and won it on his own. Opponents didn't know what to do with him.

He is the chosen one.

Let’s not forget big Will Lankshear, who also played for their academy.

We seem to have a thing for strikers who have a link to Woolwich

Scored goals that were easier on the eye. But nothing more.
Bale is best British player in history and I’m not sure it’s even that close or who’s second
Are you pissed?
Bobby Moore, Jimmy Greaves, Lineker, Gazza, Blanchflower, Shearer, Beckham, Giggs, Rush, Dalglish, Rooney, Charlton, Best
Think you need to have a little sit down and rehydrate if you think a permanently injured Gareth Bale is better than all of them and anyone I've forgotten.
