The fact Kane came through the academy and broke every goal scoring record the club has ever had, and stayed for longer than any other good player in the clubs history puts him top.
He wasn't a glamour player no, but his actual output and loyalty makes him the best.

With Royal he can play RCB against weaker teams in the EL, but he's gone to Milan by the looks of it, and if we don't use Davies, we're down two CB cover positions.

They can manage the odd 2 game weeks. CB is not that demanding a position.

All the other top sides manage it with PL/CL rotation.

Modric takes it by a hair for me but they are definitely the 1st and 2nd best players of the premier league era IMO. Bale as a force for single-handedly changing games was awe inspiring, he was up there with Messi and Ronaldo in that regard (though he could never stay fit enough to put up the kind of stats those two were capable of, obviously), but Modric is still the most talented player I've ever seen in Lilywhite. An absolute maestro in the midfield, capable of the sort of passes you can't even see are on with the benefit of a birds eye view, and very very hard to dispossess.

In those early Modric years, you never really got the fuss until you truly watched him live.

I remember going to a game at home to Stoke in his first season. I couldn't believe he played for Spurs.

92m spent (Solanke 57m and Gray 35m) with 48.7m received (Emerson 15m , Hojbjerg 17m, Parrot 6.7m Rodon 10m) puts us at 43.3m net.
I think the amount of savings on wages as well allows for a winger and a back up LB (with Lo Celso, Skipp, Solomon and Reguillon still to be sold/loaned).

It's like asking if you talk sense this season, does it correct all the previous seasons of whatever. Maybe is the answer.

Scoring 18 goals of significance is very different to scoring 18 goals in let's say 10 games, where only 2 or 3 made a difference to the result.

Kane being the prime example. It's not how many goals but when they are scored and those other elements, which I think is what Solanke might add. Might.

You still have some room for improvement, so there is hope for Solanke..
