Not mega pleased with solanke signing but its a fairly decent signing and quite clever. Hes 26 so in the years upto 30 we still have lankshear, veliz, devine who can make it to first team. Would have liked neto but bollox to him if he wants to join them snakes. Would like another striker. Think we will get david. Possible as well that city right back who was at loan at luton.

Not sure why we signed solomon. Tbh hes quite lively and a good impact sub. Unless levy liked fact he was a free and could earn out of him.
It’s been part of the Barca playbook while they’ve been under ‘financial duress’:
Sign free agents. Get a season (or two) out of them. If they’re not up to snuff then sell them on for a modest sum — all profit.
I think Juve did the same.
Too bad that we had to take advantage of a war-torn club to accomplish this.

Losing out on Neto is a blessing in disguise. A couple stats:

Minutes played the last two seasons:
Bentancur: 2505
Richarlison: 2501
Neto: 2480

And I think that’s actually unfair to Richy and Bentancur (who are extremely injury prone) because Neto is the first name on the teamsheet at Wolves and Richy played behind Kane for a year and Lolo has had competition in the midfield.

More stats:
Neto’s 5 seasons at Wolves he’s played 6435 minutes. In Solanke’s two seasons since Bournemouth came back to the prem he’s played 6185 minutes. In Solanke’s last five seasons he’s played 15,356 minutes compared to Neto’s 6435 minutes.

Obviously you’ve gotta do more than just play, but health/fitness is 100% a skill.

Chelsea will have a CL winning squad in the doctors office next year between Neto, James, Chilwell, Nkunku and all their other sick notes.
