Good luck to the big fella. Definitely not everyone’s choice but he’ll give us something completely different from what we have just now. He’s the type of striker that can stretch teams and that gives our midfield more space to play. His goals are penalty box goals and has that old school finisher feel to him. 15+ goals should be expected and I’m confident he’ll do that. If Sonny can add similar amount of to last season and sign another wide player who can contribute goal wise then we are in a good position. Need more goals coming from midfielders too.

If anyone has any footage of his goals from the previous season could you put them up.

Go on Big bad Dom. COYS

Remember conversations with you back at the start of the window about signing a proper #9 type or a pressing forward with pace and mobility. Solanke is basically both of those things.

That’s why I’m not getting my knickers in a twist because he’s what we need. Yes,I’d have preferred Gyokeres or Vlahovic but it was not to be. I hope he hits the ground running because it can make or break a player with supporters. I don’t think he’ll be prolific but he’ll get his fair share and he’ll bring others into the game. I think he’ll make us more fluent.

On a side note,I watched Gyokeres last night. He’s a top player. Scored again.

Solanke and Gyokeres profile very similar though? at least from the stats. I guess we'd have needed to be willing to spend about 15m more at least to get Gyokeres and then had the trust he could translate it to the prem. With Solanke they know he can do what he does at this level. There's zero reason to doubt Gyokeres could do it in the prem but that is still different to knowing that Solanke can.

For me I'm not judging that decision until I see what else they do for the winger position especially. If that extra 15m for Gyokeres meant we couldn't get a winger as well then I'm even more on board with the Solanke decision tbh. If we don't get a winger then I'm looking at it slightly differently.
