Aye, that was my post. And I stand by it. You are using the mentalness at Chelsea to make your point. Not sure that’s valid.

Who is Man City’s backup left back after the centre back Gvardiol? Rico Lewis the right back? Josh Wilson Esbrand? No, I’ve not heard of him either.

Woolwich? Zinchencko? Kiwior? And that’s only if they play Califori the centre back out of position.

Liverpool’s backup to Andy Robertson? Tsimikas.

Chelsea would be ok if Chilwell wasn’t permanently injured but they do also have Cucurella.

Point is, very few squads have quality in every position, particularly at backup. Just because Chelsea have got five right wingers doesn’t mean that this kind of depth is the norm. It’s freakish.
Spot on. I actually think we have too many CM’ers and I would be cool for Skipp to go

With Neto and Doue off the table we seem to be moving way down the list on winger targets. Unless they’ve been keeping one very quiet, it looks like they haven’t really got a plan.
I feel like Eze is the one we'll go for. The release clause is always there to pull the trigger if we want.

But that will be a deadline day special unless City SWOOP in.

We're probably haggling over payment structure but Palace have no reason to concede tbh.

Man City’s rotation LB is 90m Gvardiol. Or they play Ake there who starts for Holland.

Are you seriously comparing that to having Ben Davies who can play a bit of emergency LB or LCB?

Whyyyyyy did we have to spend £80m on Kulusevski and Johnson last summer, why why why why why

Most clubs have a proactive approach to transfers.

We don't. Dan the Man has us on the other end of that spectrum. Wait & see what others do, then react. Pick up the leftovers for a discie. Or spend big on a Solanke on Aug 10th when unrest is looming and pretend he was your first choice all along.

If/when the shit hits the fan, get your PR team to put out the same old excuses.

Both teams tend to use CBs as their full backs. So City will have Gvardiol/Ake at LB and Walker/Akanji at RB.

Woolwich will have Califori/Timber/Zinchenko for LB.

That's a hell of a lot more depth than we have.

All the teams you mention have natural backup. Yeah Tsimikas may not be elite but he's a natural LB.

Chelsea signed Cucurella for 60m when they had Chilwell established.

We are hoping Spence or Donley can do a job there otherwise we are sticking VDV there and losing him in his key position for us. And anyone still mentioning Davies needs to go and rewatch the last NLD.

Squads are 25 man deep. It's not unreasonable to expect at least 2 dedicated players per position.

We have it everywhere else except LB.
And I agree we should have a dedicated left back as backup. I just believe it’s tough to get a top quality one when they will obviously be second choice.

I believe Solanke was our first choice CF but Danny boy tried to play chicken and get the price down.

When the fans got twitchy he paid up but then decided that was enough for him when it came to paying up for Neto who was Ange’s first choice RW.

Levy would prefer to see unrest towards Ange and sack him than spend another 60m on a top player this summer. If the fans get twitchy towards Ange that’s perfect for Levy.
