While it may or may not be true that we are chasing a Rottweiler type, let's not pretend that "links to players" have any meaning other than that hacks and "ITK"s are trying to attract clicks and donations by making semi-plausible guesses.
Probably not yet , in time and quite soon possibly but a.t.m them coming on as subs could have that wow factor. Hell with out own kids coming through and the youngsters we are buying imagine what our team could be like in 3 years. Hope I’m still around.
Those players cost more as they are first team ready but have not peaked. So it stands to reason.
There is definitely a trend towards younger players though, if you look at how many we have brought in rather than value.
Personally I don’t care, if they are good enough or will be good enough in time, that’s what matters

Think about the biggest issue we faced last year (and pre-season hasn't been any better): Oppo transitions. We need to find a solution to this, when we do we gain approximately +10 points (using goals we conceded from them last season). We have to accept teams will transition against us by how we have chosen to play but by preventing half of the transitions, which I think is realistic, we instantly improve.
The solution is a busy, aggressive, snidey little shit that hauls down oppo transitions as they start (target the ball player of the first pass and the receiver of the first pass = job done).
Skipp out for 15-20m
Gomes in for 40-50m
If we could get 10-15m for GLC as well we’d be looking at upgrading to Gomes for a pretty reasonable net outlay.
