Poch’s Chelsea ended up 3 points behind us last season & they had a cup final and a cup semi final. And beat us home and away.

For context we were 16 points ahead of Chelsea the season before that. So the idea Ange is miles ahead of Poch as a coach is literally just a fantasy, it’s based on nothing rooted in reality.

That team was in the middle of a takeover and complete rebuild. And then they spent a gazzalion bucks.

Like I said, I don’t think there’s much in it between Poch and Ange, but there’s no way our squad was better, and we also (like them) lost a bunch of our better players, but they had much better back ups, our forwards were meh compared to theirs, and Ange still finished ahead of Poch. Ange was also having his first season in the PL. So I think it’s daft to call Poch “way better” based on the evidence we have.

IN THE LONG RUN??? You having a laugh? He didn't suit Ange's system even before Angelos rocked up! Easily better with Son or Richarlison...or Llorente

I think we obviously needed to change, and I didn’t have any issue at all with selling Kane, but there was no real “plan” to improve the team having sold him, on that basis, I am pretty certain we’d have won more games last season with him. Not just his goals but his team play and creativity.

You were doing so well but then the wheels came off :ange-facepalm:

Not gonna ask what you mean by team play, cos poor Odobert does not deserve this

I'd take Enzo-Caicedo over our midfield in a heartbeat

Palmer as creative player is miles beyond Maddison. So they've got a clear midfield advantage and depth too.

Jackson and Sterling aren't any worse than Richy and Johnson. It's basically just Son, Romero, Udogie, Porro, VDV that we have an advantage on. And yes, in that sense we do have a slightly better level of top end talent. But I think Chelsea have more talent than us overall, mainly because Cole Palmer was the best player in the Premier League last season.
Enzo? Wash your mouth out, he’s dogshit with sprinkles on top.

Caicedo is bang average as well

James fully fit you are probably right but Porro does stay fit so I’d have him in there.
Yeah assuming all players are in peak form and fully fit. James probably the best RB around on his day.

I'd have an in-form Biss over any of theirs at 6.

Maybe you squeeze Neto in by giving Palmer more of a 10 role and dropping Maddison but we've hardly seen him play there.

Gallagher will be off soon too.

What’s the betting that 25m Wilson Odobert ends up looking better than all of their expensive forwards bar maybe Palmer?
