Ok. Because we’ve looked like a solid unit under Ange I guess? Nothing to change

Udogie is a good player and perfect for games like yday but who would you want marking Saka vs them lot? And marking their centre backs after last years capitulation.

Nothing in this post changes the fact that Udogie is a better LB than VDV.

Same as VDV is a better CB than Udogie.

and recouped 75m whilst saving an insane amount of money on wages.

I suspect someone who can be a lot more fucked than me could total up the wages we've saved this year by offloading so many players on big wages and it would be quit a few million a week.

I know Levy loves to be bottom of the wages to turnover ratio table but even for us it will be a record this year. There is so much headroom in that regard and also the ability to put it towards bringing players in.....or towards the biggest climbing wall in Europe.

The way I see it is that we've essentially reset the squad now, save for a few key back up positions. We are short in areas but we have just got Europa League football again which will bring some pennies in for next year, and you'd expect the minimum target for the squad is 4th to get Champion's League next year.

Perhaps then we'd see fewer but more impactful signings.

From what we know of Levy, he wont be happy on missing out on it twice. I suspect he's told Ange it is required this season. A big ask in my opinion.

Most of us expect a tough game and possibly even a loss.

Try living in the now, rather than stressing about tomorrow. You might find yourself being a bit less of a miserable cunt.

None of this is real life. It's just entertainment. Why so serious?

How naive.

Having a slightly stronger set of midfield options, with the required experience would be exactly the right wa y to nurture our younger players.

Being able to mix and match where possible builds competence.

That's living and being competitive in the now and being ready for tomorrow.

Wait and see when Newcastle bully our midfiekd next weekend.

So many posters with 90 minute memories.

Talk of the two 18 year olds as though they are already world beaters is embarrassing.

It’s a tough game for us up there. Always has been and always will be.

But why in the transfers thread. Is there a player we can sign who will make the kick off later or Newcastle a shorter trip? Maybe you’d like us to sign a player those mouth breathers like to make St James’ Park less hostile?

I'm naive when you are this miserable about the fortunes of a business masquerading as a football club?

Have a word.

I bet you are still miserable when you get sucked off. "The technique was bad. Should have gone for a few more seconds. I'm worried about how bad it'll be next time. You could have cleaned up after. "

If you can't even smile and enjoy a dominant win then maybe this isn't the form of entertainment for you.

Yeah I agree and think Locko was probably the one they wanted.
Funnily enough, I said exactly this to my old man when we were talking after the game. Rupturing his Achilles I think stymied that, and it wouldn't surprise me if they look at him again once he's recovered, as long as it hasn't had a major effect on his ability.
Now they probably need to decide if they like the next available name on the list enough to pull the trigger. My gut feel from Ange in press conferences and interviews is that nothing is imminent and it will be if one they really like becomes available.

It wouldn't surprise me if they feel that they have sufficient cover in Spence et al to hold off and see how Locko comes back from.his injury.
We also have Vuskovic coming through and then there is the likes of Ash Phillips and Dorrington a year or 2 down the line. They might be reluctant to plug gaps with players for a year or 2 that aren't ultimately at the level they want. If there is one at the level who will move this summer, they will pull the trigger IMO.
I guess it all depends on whether the club see the position as a true weakness, or if they feel the current cover is sufficient.

Now we look to potentially have the wing and striker areas strengthened, that LB cover looks to us as being the primary focus area, along with GK cover.

So Luka who has played 2 seasons of first team football wont be ready but Alfie who has played zero first team football will be. makes complete sense
If it doesn't make sense for you I can't help you.
But, for a starter, Vušković can't get a work visa until he's 18 years old, which is the main reason Spurs have loaned him out to "minor" leagues (and not their top teams).
Dorrington had trained with Spurs 1st team since October 2023, and was on the bench several times...until an hamstring injury kept him out for around 8 week, and then he got another injury that kept him out for 3-4 weeks and then he had an hamstring operation in May.
It's hard to play for any team when out injured half of the season.
However, if you - and those who agree with you - think an 18 years old Vušković is ready to 1st team footy without having been tested in England at all, feel free to believe so.
