Chiesa will be absolutely fine with the physical aspect of the PL. He’s a tough little bugger and remarkably traditional and direct in how he plays. I also think they might try and play him a little more centrally, off Nunez perhaps? He’s versatile. I don’t think he’s only a wide man.

As we all know, it’s just a question of whether his body holds up.

The player I watched in the Euros isn’t a premier league level athlete anymore,

Now, summer football can be deceptive so let’s see. The player he was, sure but why is he going for 12m and wages when we are talking about a player who was one of the very best wide forwards in Europe. It’s fishy af

Not the debate I was raising.

In our rotation Brennan is better suited and more productive.

Chiesa is a better footballer technically for sure but that’s only part of the picture for recruitment.

Now maybe Chiesa is back to his best physically and he beats Diaz to starts more often but there’s also a fairly big chance the Prem is way too physical for him and he’s not faster or more explosive than most defenders he faces. Brennan is faster than pretty much all of them.
Pointless if he never runs at them

Chiesa is a much, much better footballer than Brennan Johnson.

Now, his injuries or period of adaptation might get in the way, rather like Neto, but he is flat out better.

And there isn’t a football fan of any other team that would choose Johnson over Chiesa.
What a wretched opinion agreed with by all the misery guts.
Let's see what all these fans who you know so well will think at the end of the season.

The thing is that every team signs under-performing players and then either moves them on or annoyingly sees them fester as they wind their contracts down.

Didn't Ferguson say that over half a team's signings don't work out? Something like that anyway.

But of course, we're the worst in that regard. Our scouting department is and generally always has been shit. Every critical poster has 20/20 hindsight and of course, were among the first to call our latest signings as shit, or cheap options, or Levy being Levy or whatever.

Because to be the most Tottenham online you first have to show how much (pretend to) hate Tottenham.
United Chelsea City and even Woolwich can afford this because of how ludicrously loaded they are.

We can't. We are a small broke club struggling to rub two pence together, so when our signings don't work out, they are very, very expensive ones (Ndombele, Gio, Bergwijn, etc.)

What quote? Random tweet by journo. Not a sentence from Ange.

You try to look like you have anything to stand on because you admire that quote. Yet I just brought very recent and factual example how those things you attach to so manically are not reliable.

Not a single journo had idea about Odobert signing. It is undeniable. And serves as very solid proof of how trustworthy the floor under your legs is.

Um you literally said this:

I mean there have been quotes about "energetic midfielder" but I've never seen a direct quote about looking for LCB/LB nor a GK.

So what quotes are you on about and where did it come from?

Difficult to do this now as fees mostly undisclosed but without add ons for ins and outs and including the Bergvall and Hojbjerg fees i reckon this is reasonably accurate give or take.

Ins
Bergvall £8m
Gray £35m
Hyuk £3m
Solanke £55m
Odobert £25m
Total £126m

Outs
Rodon £10m
Parrott £6.7
Hojbjerg £16m
Royal £13
Skipp £20m
Jack Clarke £4m
Total £69.7

Roughly £56m net with whatever we get for Lo Celso and Reggie to come.

Solanke was 60+5m, making him our record transfer.

This window looks like one where the biggest goal was clearing the decks and getting forwards who fit the way we want to play.

Imo they also wanted a CM as well as the younger ones and rotation FBs or hybrid type defenders.

It looks like Spence and Gray/Bergvall have changed their mind a bit but they still want a left footed defender,

Maybe it's because I'm three glasses of a fine red to the good but that looks like decent business to me.

All the signings we've seen so far look really promising, we managed to shift the players who were deemed surplus to requirements for a reasonable amount.

We've got the young Korean lad to come later...

Why the fuck are people so miserable?

Well, I sort of know the answer to that.

Yep I admit - I was wrong on this one- I thought it was something Ange said on the presser, but indeed this was something that journalists said. So on that instance I was wrong.

But it again just proves the point what a total garbage these journo links and quotes and everything are :) absolutely worthless.

So at this point it is pure guessing.
