Is it just me or is this new CL format already turning into a bit of a snooze?

Seems to have created more mismatches not less.
There are big games most nights this way. I think it will get more interesting towards the end of the league and then the way the next rounds are seeded should make the final stages more competitive although probably more difficult for a smaller team to actually win it.

Are there though? Last season you had Newcastle, PSG, Milan and Dortmund all in the same group. We had Dortmund and Real Madrid in one of our groups, on another occasion both Inter and Barca.

I think there are more regular mismatches and it's making a mockery of its status as the premier football competition.

The knockout rounds should be good but how many games to knock out 8 teams?!

Somebody should clip up all the times Havertz "accidentally" hits people with his elbow and send it to pgmol
He's right up there on my list of players I would like to see crocked.

That time he walked through the players legs so he almost broke his back on landing (then did the 'what?' shrug gesture) makes me want to crowdsource a fucking assassin, what a prime cunt! Utterly despicable.

The conspiracy theorist in me thinks this is just a slow burn plan to get everyone comfortable with a “Super League” style table so they can push it through next time it comes back around.

Not really.

This was created by UEFA to fend off the Super League, more matches = more money for the clubs and especially to appease the legacy clubs (Barca, Juve, Milan) etc... who have been pushing to join the ESL.

Can't see the ESL coming back around now in any case, doesn't have the support it initially did and only a handful of clubs would actually join it his time.

Woolwich did what they needed to last night against an average PSG team, buy my God were they boring in that second half. I'd hate to be watching that every week even when it's bringing results.

Really looking forward to the Villa-Bayern game this evening. Could be electric under the lights at Villa Park and fancy Villa to get a result.
