It's not "head in the sands" to believe a season (where we finished a very credible 5th) and 7 games is not enough time to judge any manager - unless they have obviously lost the dressing beyond repair.

If he doest't get results by the end of this season (or if we're in a relegation battle at Xmas obvs) then we can have the conversation but doing so right now doesn't help anyone least of all the club.

That's just... normal?

This isn't just 7 games though, This poor run is a continuation from end of last season.
Nobody wants another manager sacked, but it's a result based industry, if you can't or don't get them your gone.
They all earn enough money and know what is at stake, I'm really struggling to board the ange train, it doesn't fill me with any confidence.

There is no way we are winning a cup this season, not under Ange. We are basically out of the league cup, with City next, let's be honest. FA Cup, there are quite a few better sides than us and again, Ange can't even beat a top half team in the league, so what makes people think we will in a knock out game?

We scraped past Coventry ffs.

Europe League, I just can't see it. It's not being negative, it's just realistic. I wish we had a manager I could have some hope with.

The funny thing is, I actually look forward to our games in terms of style of play, generally. But I don't think we will actually win enough games.

Ange doesn't have the tactical acumen to best other top managers to win a cup, not at the highest level.

Nah you are way off here. Fans rarely protest, go on Redcafe, to a man they all want him gone and have done for months. He is way way passed fans debating about ETH. They want him gone.

A cup competition represents his best chance of anything, usually it's about six rounds to win a cup.
The team is woefully inconsistent, but it could potentially play one good game here and there, the main stumbling block will be when we meet the best teams they normally crumble.
I can't see him bagging a league title unless he goes back to Oz.

Bagging a league title at spurs is a pipe dream.

Sure poch came close, but literally the entire group of rivals was having a down spell and we still didn’t pull it off.

Not going to say it’s impossible, but it’s near impossible. So I don’t think it’s a reasonable expectation. Ange could definitely be a success here without a league title.

Breaking into the top 3 or 4 and being competitive in all our cup competitions is about our peak as a club. Wishing for any more (with the current owners and rules) is just asking for endless misery.

Is it a pipedream you are bang on the money.
However a club of Tottenhams fanbase size, global appeal and financial status, being in the top ten richest clubs it shouldn't be.
This club should be competing on, a fairly regular basis but they don’t.
The lack of winning culture is at the very top and has been for years, we can talk all day about ange changing the culture and or cycle of losing, truth is his is pissing in the wind when, the power at the club isn't driven the same way.

Yes it's a results based industry and Ange like anyone else will be judged on those results. It's 7 games into the league and we're still in every competition we can be. Until we're not the vast majority of "normal" fans will go on supporting both manager and club. This is normal behaviour NOT "head in the sands".

Got no problem with you not being filled with confidence. Why would you unless we were sitting top of the table? That's normal too :thumbup:

No come on…. No was talking about winning the league or anything. Supporters enjoy a win there’s nothing wrong with that. It’s a bit unfair to say ‘everyone was going over the top’ etc

This is true and tbh I’m Ange in only because I hope it’ll all click and I can’t really bare the new manager tear it all up and start again etc

No his job is also to win matches not just give up. We didn’t once look like trying to win that match in 2nd half. You he’s trying to push the team how? He did nothing in the side line. Pushing the team means being ruthless. If players are playing shit pull them off no apologies. Let someone else try to push the team. Your logic is flawed.

Because Arteta is nothing like Postecoglou.

It’s not a good idea to sack managers after a season, but it’s a good idea to hire a proper good manager in the first place, something which we didn’t do for years now.
