5 wins on the trot and then one loss and the anti-Enic cult of miserable wretches decide to try to take over yet another thread.
I'm out of here until after the Pikey game.

"Anti ENIC cult"!!!

err...like nearly 80% of the forum 😆

Also, I hope you and those who endorsed your post aren't going to be hypocrites and start crying again if someone refers to a 'Levy cult' or an 'Ange cult'

Does not matter if 1st choice or 10th. He still cost us about £5m compensation to Celtic. We didn’t pick him up off Hackney marshes did we.

And on to of that he gets paid approx £5m a year to manage our footballers. He’s not doing it for nothing. I think it is a top job. But I’m a spurs fan so I guess I’m biased.

What exactly is your idea of a plum job??

No idea what you do for a living but I’m pretty certain you don’t get paid £5m a year.
I mean this is plum job and he is saying that his work up to know is what has got him here. However, he wasn’t first choice was 6th as pointed out and there wasn’t anyone else going for him whilst he was at Celtic. He now needs to show he deserves to be here rather most like Munn giving him the big up to levy.

As Jose said to Pep after we beat them

You can have the ball
We can have the 3 points
That's true but that's probably more valid for a one off game. IIRC City ended up winning the league and got to the UCL final in that season.

I love Jose but look where he is managing now, he's been left in the past and sadly that type of football doesn't have much success over a longer term timeframe.

Pep has been the top manager since 2008, you could argue he's been fully funded the whole time but he's still brought success to every club he's been with his possession based tactics.

I just don't understand this.. didn't we just witness a 2-0 lead collapse against Brighton?
We barely won against Coventry.....
We lost to a Woolwich team who didn't have their 2 best players.

Who cares if we had more possession?

We won against a 10 man ManU, Brentford and Everton... and some low end teams in the cup. Not impressed. If this is your standard for the club.... we should be mid to bottom feeders.

Pathetic.

There is not much point continuing dialog.

I never mentioned possession in my post, but you plucked it out from nowhere as it's a trigger word for your compadres.

Ray Charles can see we are better in attack, improved in pressing, creating more decent chances, not playing crab football anymore, have tightened up on corners only conceded one (which was a foul) in 10 games, and are improving on the high line not getting cut open as much. That's just off my head and has fuck all to do with possession. Johnson also has scored more goals already than the entire last season.

Coventry we started with 8 changes and had a back 5 including GK that had not played one competitive match together. So no shit we were a bit lacking cohension. But Ange made the subs and the players responded and won the game. Result now is not the important thing though as we won, so you gotta moan about something right?

We lost against scum to a foul by an expert cunt. We also while doing some half decent things in attack had not discovered our finishing properly... Coventry game was the catalyst I believe, as shown by the increase in 3s scored afterwards.

Brighton was an anomaly. Cataclysmic fuckup that we should not have to witness again.
I still expect there to be some mistakes and bumps though. While you lot seem to think we are the finished article and expect, or are owed 3 points every game... To me it's clear we are building and are a work in progress. Quite a young unseasoned team implementing a radical style. There is progress but it has not fully translated into better results, YET.

If you look it up and check I think City won the title last year. I don't think they were deducted points as it doesn't count beating shit teams...

Far too much sense being spoken here , give yourself an upper cut .
When I read some of the stuff on here all I keep thinking is I wouldn't want some of the melts on here in a fox hole with me covering my back .

What an excellent post.

Let's be honest, the "Let's all laugh at Gooners" thread would be the busiest thread on the forum.

It was, I'm sure when we pip'd them to 4th and when their Amazon doc came out.

Oh how everyone laughed and laughed and laughed at Areteta.

Now some, very few but still some people go in there to big him up.

Maybe everyone in the 'I can't wait to tell you I've been right about Ange all along' group could just give it some more time?

You all are very very smart (and weirdly rude) but.... no one likes a know it all smart arse and maybe just wait until you have actually been proved right to start being truly insufferable about it.

Again, if we barely won against Coventry, we BARELY lost to Woolwich.

Self-loathing Spurs fans are the worst.

Thing is he makes out as if he’s the only who who plays high press attacking football. Think Napoli did it, Barca, city, BL, Atalanta, dippers, etc. wish he’d stop going on about his principles and concentrate on getting results. I don’t hear pep or klopp ramming down their principles.
With regard to your first point, I've never once heard him suggest this.

As for your second, I have, especially the latter.

Well this is blatantly untrue. All of it.

But thanks for popping in.

I thought it obvious at the time and even more so that he lost a lot of fans with his comments around that man city game. He would have been better to say nothing. We were on a poor run of form and it only compounded things in a lot of fans minds, which was and is understandable.

I remember Redknapp doing the same while chasing the England job and him saying about us hitting a glass ceiling with him and we wouldnt go past it. Lots of fans, already annoyed with his England antics were then faced with this comment, which turned out to be wrong. Instead it only highlighted his limitations.

I wonder if we are seeing the same here. Bullshit baffles brains and all that. Sometimes it is best to say nothing especially if it will annoy fans. But sometimes managers do it on purpose and sometimes they do it because they cant get their heads out of their own arses. Feels it's the latter here again as with Redknapp.
