so mostly top teams then?

(Kills me calling the Scum and Chavs that!)
Lol fair.

I still think that every team struggle to beat the other top teams.

As I pointed out our points haul vs Chelsea, Woolwich Liverpool and Villa was -2 on city's last season so I personally want us to.focus on beating the teams we absolutely should be beating first and picking up as many points against those around us as we cam, especially at home, starting with Villa in a couple of weeks.

Well after watching the Dippers Chavs game yesterday I don’t think that we have got anything to worry about!

Ye he gonna get nicked by Real Madrid if we beat a couple more midtable teams

It wasn't the most awe inspiring start to the season, but put it in perspective, we lost 1 of those 8, on the opening day of the season away at Old Trafford to a Kyle Walker own goal.
So Poch's 13 points was superior to Ange's 13 points at the same stage of his second season, because we had fewer losses. Ok.

So was the 22 points we dropped to the top 5 opponents in Poch's first season also superior to the 22 points we dropped in Ange's first season?

If we reduce that to 15 this season, like Poch did in his second, does Ange earn his "good against top sides" badge?

Did the scum mug us at home two years running I thought that honour was earned by the bloke who won everything in Scotland

So does this mean we play a double pivot now with Sarr and Bissouma? Or did Ange just get lucky?

Hes an up and down manager for me. 1 week good, next week bad.
When inspecting the win loss ratio over the course of a season and bit with an inherited squad and 'some' turnover - I guess the questions are around

a) which parts fall to Ange and his philosophy,
b) which parts are about the squad vulnerabilities/capabilities and the need to address these
c) and which part is about injuries over the course of the season- separating out collision injuries (unavoidable in training and game day) versus soft tissue injuries across the squad (high performance manager responsibility), thus not allowing the most useful squad members on the park as frequently as possible.

In my opinion, if you're still a supporter who is 'jury is out' on Ange - then you must be filthy at those who employed him, and the predecessor and their predecessor and so on... and most probably operating on old narratives about what a good coach looks like (had a few of those, and THAT still failed to work out positively), and also not taking on board, just how close the league is in terms of competitiveness.

Clearly he is a very very good manager, otherwise he never would have been entertained.

We're just simply better offensively. We move the ball better, The movements better. Solanke a huge part of it.

It's quite clear. Stats back it up, eye test backs it up. Results back it up.

We're creating chances at almost ease and truth be told, we're starting to get alot more clinical with it. Whereas at times last season we were quite slow, a bit more predictable and pretty wasteful, especially when Son was up top and unable to do actual striker things.

Yeah it’s clicking up front now.
And if Solanke could add serious goals to his game - like he did last season - we are coming close to winning the league. With a. 25 goals + CF we are matching City and Liverpool. Next season could be like Poch’s 3rd season if we continue to improve.

This season.
Take Haaland out of that City team right now and they struggle. I’m interested to see how Liverpool play on Sunday - their first real test. Hopefully that’s a draw.

Each week I keep my fingers crossed Solanke hits a brace gets his confidence in front of goal and we start to really cook on gas.

Big 3 games coming up before city away.

Then December is a HUGE month.

The underlying numbers have said we are playing well and are actually good, probably 'deserved' more points than we have now.

Games we dropped points in come down to individual errors this season not style which is why I find it overly weird folk wanted the manager sacked.

Stats mate. Pure unadulterated stats.

Played 8 and Haaland has scored 10. Solanke 2.
If Solanke had scored just 4 more goals in those type of games haaland does where he gets 1 chance and buries it we’d have more points. Header against woolwich comes to mind.

Give us another & goals and our GD is +17 after 8 games.
With Haaland they have a GD just 1 better than ours. They are far too reliant on him this season IMHO.

And when setting up a football club my friend got advice from Sir Alex. Which was.
Get yourself the best goalscoring number 9 and the best GK you can. With those two players you can always win matches.

Pep 100% works to that idea.
