Have the balls to tag me you troll!

Especially when, as usual, you've made ur own narrative up.

Why let facts get in the way of you slating the club you say you love though eh?

Pathetic.

Ange himself said at the time he wasn't happy with several of those performances. I saw the holes, who the hell thought it was prime Barca. I think we were all excited as the football was starkly different and didn't leave us wanting to cut our eyes out or wash them with bleach.

The season itself got a bit derailed by several factors not limited to:
Injuries to the most key players
Suspensions to key players
International tournaments meant no Son, Sarr or Bissouma for 4-6 weeks. Biss then came back with fucking Maleria ffs.
We still had a lot of players not really wanted by Ange so those filling in for the above were often not great replacements.
Then when we were actually blessed by players returning from injury, they were totally unable to recover even 50% of their form.

No job is easy, all teams get their shit.. of course I am not saying poor Ange he is the only one who had problems... But it is a little galling how everything gets glossed over as if none of those things matter. It effects how efficiently he could coach the players, so delays things.

He isn't doing a Slot. Coming in barely changing anything and having a flush ready team to work with. He is trying to change the entire culture of the club, because it is rotten. The tactics on the pitch are very different too, so not easy to quickly adapt to. I don't believe people are stupid enough to think this can all be done in one season and 10 games, so I guess what it is, is impatience because of the previous barren years the frustration has built up.

The most anti Ange praised him last week and were positive about an encouraging result against West Ham. Now it's swung in one league game to Ange out again. It's beyond ridiculous in my opinion.
The problem is we don’t know if he is capable of doing this project because he’s NEVER REMOTELY been in this situation before. He hasn’t managed anywhere near this level AND he’s never not had access to the best players in any league he’s operated in.

This idea (not that you’ve said it but others point to it) that you have to give managers time as a default because of Fergie or Arteta is nonsense. There are way more times when a manager is given too much time and the inevitable should have happened sooner. Ten Haag. Soljskaer, Gerry Francis - look at the way Arse got rid of Bruce Rioch after one season to bring in Wenger etc.
You have to chart your progress subjectively along the way and essentially continually work out the main question for any manager i.e is he capable of getting more (or at least equal) out of this team than the sum of its parts.
In this sense, it’s always harder at THFC because the manager is always required to get more than the sum, because transfer wise we rarely dine at the top table because of our fuckwit chairman.

And Sunday was an absolutely shocking marker for tracking our progress. Coming off that 2nd half vs Brighton and in our next away game we produce that insipid garbage.
Our away form is absolutely shocking. At home we seem to be adept at putting away teams outside of those competing for the top 6. This pattern will NOT keep Ange in his job past the summer and rightly so. 2 big home games coming up now, can we dispense of some quality opposition at our own house - another progress marker.

Many of us are not Ange OUT, we’re just very concerned.

Why are people calling him out for being arrogant?

You do realise to succeed in football you have to be. It’s the 0.1% of the top of the industry. If you don’t back yourself (deluded or not) you’re utterly fucked. You’ll be seen through straight away.

We have a problem in the country differentiating between confidence and arrogance. Some just don’t get it or it makes them uncomfortable. Arrogance is a good thing in certain circumstances and confidence is an absolute necessity. Without both you won’t stand a chance with players or owners.

Conte with 25 pts from 10 games at Napoli. It might go to shit soon enough with him there as well, but if he wins the league... Jeez.
Conte was and is a class act. The Levy admirers hailed his appointment here and shouted from the rooftops how if Levy didn't back him Conte would call him out and they would finally concede they'd been wrong.
.Well Levy didn't back him, Conte pulled his pants down and exposed Levy's lying, losing arse.......And they all turned on Conte and rallied round their man Levy.

As predictable as lager turning to piss.

The stadium was the game changer. So we were told.
I accepted the Covid issues which were unexpected and had a huge impact.
But… we are or should be better equipped post Covid to spend, than most.
We have spent (before anyone jumps on that) but we won’t ever break the bank to buy (or keep) elite players or build around them.
We won't attempt to break the wage structure unless our star player makes it clear he’s done with us. We try. We fail.
We have a mediocre squad. A mediocre manager.
Win a few handsomely.
Lose a few with wilting boredom.
Cycle repeats.
Please just break the cycle Spurs. It’s time to accept we’re going nowhere or step up.

That's a good, well reasoned post that sums up the current situation without resorting to hyperbole or irrational judgement on either side of the debate.
A lot of posters would do well to sit down with a nice cup of tea and read this over a few times.
A fine summary that everyone should be able to get on board with if they're being honest with themselves.

Well said Boltonspur Boltonspur 👏

Is there a single post on this site that suggests Postecoglou (or any manager) be given 4 years of mid table results without being sacked?

Why do you make up imaginary arguments to have imaginary fights against? So weird.
I said two years , not 4

You do make some valid points, pal. Nice one, good post that.

Tbh keep Ange or put friggin Elmer Fudd in charge, I don't actually care. I don't have a dying need to like our manager or identify with him. All I want is to see our players fight to the death every single game and them picking up more wins, maybe a trophy every other season or so...preferably the glorious FA Cup, which used to be our property.

Us fans bloody deserve it, we've suffered plenty, we've given the club more than enough.

Nothing wrong with confidence mate that's something you need in order to survive.
I think what hasn't helped is, his early comments about he always wins something in his second year.
Well at the moment, both him and the team couldn't win an argument in an empty room, also some are pissed off with his press interviews.
I have not seen them myself so can't comment, I stopped listening to him weeks and weeks ago.
It's a tough ask tonight, we all hope that we can go on a winning run starting tonight, I suspect though that it won't the case because the team is very inconsistent.

You might be right, it's a huge problem.. but it is not like Ange is not trying. We had galactico Conte and Mourinho talk us down, insult us. If any cunt SHOULD have been talking about winning it's them. Cowards though. Paycheck cunts.
Pochettino was scared to say win.
Ange is not backing away from anything, constantly talking about winning. He researched us and took the job precisely because we are always coming up short. He believes and wants to change that.
It might be above his abilities but I fucking admire that balls to keep insisting when it's so much easier and less pressure to be meek like Pochettino was. I want him around long enough at minimum to see whether he continues always winning in the second season.
Yes Ange's devotion and ambition are admirable. Conte and even more so Jose were never that interested in changing the culture, at least not the way Ange is or goes about it.

But...there were serious - and legitimate - doubts back when he first joined as to whether a 57yo coming from Oz/Japan/Celtic could succeed where younger & much better manager had failed. 16 or so months in, those doubts are still knocking about...heck they are even louder (rightly so, one might add).

Ange doesn't help himself with some of his comms. Feels like the pressure is getting to him and, mainly, that we're starting to see the real Ange, who ain't all that nice & bubbly.

Like I've said before, I do want him to succeed cause that means Spurs are doing well, but I really can't see how this ain't gonna end in tears. One thing for sure, Levy won't take any responsibilities, he never does, no matter how epic the fail.

So he's been backed financially? The LevyOut crowd won't like that type of talk.

BTW, what do you expect him to have achieved after 16 months?
That whole he's been backed/not convo is kinda flawed to be honest.

To me, a manager has been backed when he got exactly the players he wanted, his top options. And all of them, not being left 1, 2 or 3 players short come the end of the window.

For instance, you ask for say Nico Williams but your board says no, transfer fee + wages too high...you can have 50 mil + 80k pw Brennan Johnson instead. Has he been backed cause we spent 50 big ones on a player? Or was he not backed cause he got the B side? By the way, I'm not saying Ange wanted Nico over Brennan (which is another debate).

Either you back your HC or you don't, there's no in between IMHO. Issue is, that's Dan Dan's MO right there...doing 30-40% of what's required, always. See Jose get Rodon instead of Skriniar or many another example out there since '01.

But these have been twisted. He was asked “you always win something in your second season” and he said said “yes that’s true. That’s what’s happened historically, I win something in my second season at the clubs I’ve been at “.

Nobody’s fault but there’s if they ignore the second part of the answer.

However, should he have said it, he should know how it’s going to be spun. I think yes. It puts pressure on the owners and the players to deliver. But as a mad Italian one once said “they don’t like to play with pressure”.

It’s amazing how many times this gets ignored or not realised.

Interesting to hear boos and mutterings against Ange from the hardcore away support after Palace.

The people who go to the majority of games are a decent barometer of what the fans are feeling. Villa becomes huge if we fail to turn up tonight.

Thing is with such poor away form you can understand where they are coming from.

On here you often see people say I’m turning off the game and going to do something else. That’s not an option when you’re in some random stadium somewhere.

I get what you're saying, I personally would have taken a 1-0 win today, that is the kind of professional performance you need, not trying to outscore everyone every game utter madness.
But we didn’t look like scoring at all which is the point. Everyone keeps going on about attacking football, front foot, pressing etc yet we didn’t and couldn’t do any of that today. Bcos the oppo upped the tempo and didn’t give us room. Which to be fair we should have been doing to them but we have too many lightweight players or one who go missing.

Yes but we can't handle pressure, I don't know what the answer is anymore.
We are so far down the rabbit hole of shit i don't think anyone knows 😁
