Match Premier League - Home to Aston Villa - 03/11 - 2pm KO

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Not sure that this is the place to discus Ange’s future but others are. Ange has got a very young squad and young players are inconsistent and do not have the experience to cope with set backs during the game which we have seen. However it does not seem right to suggest he should be replaced after the great result against MC and having a 100% record in the Europa. That suggests we are on the right path and can produce good results and hopefully reduce the inconsistencies in time.
It has rarely gone well changing Managers in mid season and whilst our league position is poor we are not far behind and Ange’s position should not be reviewed until much later in the season and only if he fails in the cups and we remain out of the European spots.

We’ve also reduced our wage bill though. Like very notably. This summer we spent money but on a lot of kids.

That said I think he’s been backed to a reasonable degree. Stuff like not getting him another left back and signing Odobert instead of a mature, ready to go wide player who can score 12+ a season though…
A LB wasn't bought because there wasn't one super appealing who was available and Davies is here winding down his contract. One will be bought in Jan or the summer.

Odobert was expected to play a significant part this season, yes he's young and didn't score 12+ last season but he played 2100 minutes in the PL last season. He wasn't brought here to be a bit part development player. He was bought to be the primary backup for Son and Johnson, and eventually (as soon as next year) replace Son.

Johnson was expected to improve this season. We've discussed this to death, but the plan has always been that he would be the nailed on RW starter.

What a bunch of shit.

We finished 5th last season while selling our best player and trying to rebuild the squad.

We finished 8th the previous season. We finished 7th 2 years before that.

You must have a very short memory. Might want to get that checked out.

Worse in what way? We finished 5th last season. Whereas, we finished 8th the season before, 7th in 20/21 and 6th in 19/20.

After Oct. of last season we were 12-4-12. We got hammered by Fulham and Newcastle. We lost 4 in the league in a row for the first time in ages. The only teams we beat after March 10 were the teams that finished 17, 18, 19, and 20.

It was fucking dreadful.

The balls on you. It isn't. It's factually correct. Point out the error if you're so certain.

Ok you utter fucking twat. After this you’re going on ignore.

Starting with our first match in November, home to Chelsea we:
L - Chelsea (November 6)
L - @ Wolves
L - Villa
D - @ City
L - Spam
W - Newcastle
W - @ Forest
W - Everton
L - @ Brighton
W - Bournemouth
D - @ United
W - Brentford
D - Everton
W - Brighton
L - Wolves
W - Palace
W - Villa (March 10)
L - @ Fulham (3-0)
W - Luton (Finished 18th)
D - @ Spam
W - Forest (Finished 17th)
L - @ Newcastle (4-0)
L - Woolwich
L - @ Chelsea
L - @ Liverpool (4th league loss in a row)
W - Burnley (Finished 19th)
L - City
W - Sheffield (Finished 20th)

After Oct. we had 12 wins, 4 draws, 12 losses. 12-4-12. Only beat the clubs that 17, 18, 19, and 20 after March 10. Lost to Fulham 3-0 and Newcastle 4-0. Lost 4 in a row in the league for the first time since 2004.

It’s. All. Correct.

Cunt.

Seems legit.

Do you think we didn’t have shit spells in our other seasons? The ones when we had a much lower point total?

You can say it was the most dreadful 6 months or whatever but the season lasts from august - may, not November-may. No matter how badly you want to nitpick a specific period of games to prove your point.

So stop making up shit because it wasn’t even the worst season in the last 2 years. It was actually the 2nd best league position and point total we’ve had in the last 5 seasons. So “worst season of recent memory” is just straight up false.

This is now a very important game as we could gain 3 points on certain clubs.
We need to be at our competitive best.
We need to win this match to stay within the pack of clubs chasing for Europe. If we lose, Villa will be 8 points ahead of us and the clubs in contention for Europe will have a 3-6 point lead on us. This match will determine our standing in this season's Premier League - if we win, we're in the chase for Europe; if not, we're in the mid-table Bermuda Triangle.

The reality is that we're nearer Everton in the league than Liverpool and that's rarely a good sign.

Completely agree.

Ange is a proven winner but good things take time to build. It is hard to come on this forum every time Tottenham lose. Some of the opinions show there is a lack of understanding of what it takes to coach and build a football team. Easy to have an opinion.

I'd love to see some people on here do their coaching badges and see how "easy" it is to turn around a team/club that has struggled for years/decade(s).

Villa probably will do a low block and hit on the counter. This could cause us problems without VDV pace.

We need Madds and Kulu to unpick a low block, even though Kulu has played a lot of mins recently.

Son isn’t great against a low block so would be tempted to put either Odobert or Moore on the left. Bring Son on as a sub.
