Manager Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

you know what makes me laugh with this whole ange shit. the idiot doesnt adapt no matter who he plays, which apparently is all about this culture and philosophy installment bollox. we are never getting 25 players that can play this suicide system! even the first 11 struggle when they are up against competent sides. when you have to dip into the squad which all clubs have to do over the season...it gets tonked up like tonight! so how the fuck is this ever going to be successful? its pure insanity. a manger has to get the best from what he has, thats the whole point of being a manager.

ben davies and dragusin standing on the halfway line as the last men is never going to work at any decent level of football loool.

also what is angeball? i thought it was meant to be quick fast paced football that rips teams apart in the final 3rd? im watching the midfield and wingers hang onto it too long and the CB's try and play out like they are playing in barcelona 2010? hes been here well over a year now and other than the defenders pushing up suicidally high, the FB's getting in the way in the final third, and wingers that cant do winger stuff. im struggling to see whats meant to be special?

I hate to do this there's not much sadder than football blokes slagging others off on a forum.... but fuck me, I'm glad I don't have anyone like you around my seat any more at the lane.

Brendan Rodgers Celtic is probably outperforming Ange’s Celtic. Especially in Europe.

Now that's food for thought .:sonhmm:
Behave John. You're a sensible poster. You can't seriously think there is anything meaningful in this comment?

If Ange drops us out of this comp in a manner we can criticise I'll moan about it too. But 3-2 away to Gala in a game we could afford to sacrifice, with our current absences? Do me a favour.

Ange did leave him a great team which he’s tweaked. Europe isn’t a comparison anymore. Their success in Europe has been against teams they would never have played in the previous group stage system due to seeding. They would never have gotten Slovak Bratislava for example.

I'm not convinced it was a game we could afford to sacrifice .
It now puts pressure on our remaining group games where we'll have much more testing league fixtures to follow than relegation bound Ipswich at home.
If you're gonna sacrifice games, you do it when the jobs done and not before.
My Brendan Rodgers comparison is really just to put Ange's much lauded previous achievements in to some kind of perspective

We've already got 4 league defeats. All of those have been really really poor performances. I can remember 1 fantastic full 90 minute display vs man united. Some very very good halves of football (west ham,Villa) but overall all the consistency of performance week in week out to now isn't there for me. Abject vs palace overall good vs West ham. Good vs villa fucking horrible vs galatasaray tonight.

That level that we're aspiring to get back to under peak poch is only going to be attainable when you start winning and playing well on a consistent basis not just against the poor sides but also against the good ones too. Off days are inevitable I accept that but I just got the feeling that we'll go away to city to Liverpool to European sides like tonight an we'll come up short. That's what I've seen under ange last season and it's the same thing again so far this one for me.

I think there are things to work with that can progress the club but ultimately under ange I don't think it's going to happen. I hope to be wrong and I want to see us go away tonight and put out a big statement performance to say we're here (particularly away ftom home) that would be a big morale boost for the players but I don't think it's coming.

BULLLLLLLSHIIIIIITTTTTTTTTTTTT

Arsneal and Newcastle were not 'really poor performances'. The second half to Brighton and Palace I will give you though.

It fucking happens, it's football.

Fair enough on the last point, I don't agree particular cos I think it's a stretch to criticise our results thus far in the EL. But fair enough.

I'd be absolutely shocked though if this result affects our chances of winning this cup to be honest. And even though I want this club to win a cup more than I want the 4th best team in the league trophy.... home to ipswich has to be a win IMHO. No mucking about.

If we put out the strongest team possible got more injuries and had to play a weaker side than we wanted vs Ipswich you would not think that was good management either.

Ange has gone with this kind of team in the cups and we have done alright even if the opposition was not the level of tonight - we have also seen much more lauded managers play in worse tournaments, against worse opposition and drop points too.

We lost, and played poorly but have hopefully given our squad some much-needed game time and experience and, if Ange does his job from here, they will be better for it.

I dunno tbh mate I try to ignore the forum beefs since rejoining cos it gets a bit silly. And John seems like someone I'd happily argue about a game over a beer with which is far more than I can say about certain other posters I've seen on here but ultimately I don't pay enough attention so happy to be proved wrong, and don't really care that much as life is too short.

John T posts on here when we win and when we lose. And like any proper Yid I hate it when we lose.

The funny thing is, you claim to have me on ignore. Yet after every win you make some kinda post asking "where's Tottenham Massive Tottenham Massive " . 😆

One day you'll understand, mate :memeokay:

So far this season we're 16 points and +11 GD. Poch's second season after 10 rounds we were 17 points and +8 GD.

Ange's first season we got 66 points and +13 GD, Poch's first season 64 and +5 GD.

Ange took over a side that had scored 60 points and +7 GD the previous season, Poch 69 points and +4 GD.

Yes we need to improve but so did Poch's side at the same stage.

I don't have a big probelm with the team he put, resting some players,
The Beef with it is Ange Knows Davis & the Dragon can't pick a pass SO WHY play that way ? Change how you play

Ange is not developing his players anywhere near the way Poch managed to.

Especially defensively. It was a very different system we played though.

I think anyone who’s going to compare this season and next season to the Poch equivalents as a barometer for Ange is going to get let down.
