Ahh remember when the 3 stooges were adamant he was a flop and just basically mocked anyone that said that he can't play in as an 8 or a 10.

That was a funny time :)

History/wrong side springs to mind...

It’s great that he high presses well. But being good at pressing doesn’t make you a great 8/10, there’s a whole bunch of other stuff that he has to be consistently good at too.

At the moment, high pressing is the only thing he is excelling at (things like seeing much ball and creating much of quality he isn’t excelling at).

Why don’t you Kulu stooges at least wait until he consistently does those other things as well before sucking each other off?

7 goal involvements in 963 mins of football across all comps.

Edit: including 4 in the last 4 games.

In the PL he has less goal involvements (4) than Solanke, Son, Johnson and Maddison. That’s all our other forward/mf’s with attacking remits, and all bar one of them has played less minutes, some by 1-200. Even Bissouma is averaging more goal involvements per 90 than Kulusevski.

He’s doing better, but let’s just be real and keep the hyperbole within palatable tolerances.

Mate I'm not gonna read this you know, it's just a wall of text because I know you're doing everything in your power to be stubborn because you never relent so

Let's be real

All his goals and assists count. No matter what the competitons.

He is one of the best pressers in the league, one of the best at winning the ball back in the attacking 3rd and has one of the best SCAs per 90 in the league.

He is doing his job. Stop resisting and join us in his Swedish arms.

It was me that posted his excellent pressing stats. I’ll call what I see and when facts change my opinion will.
I'm with bc on this one. Maddison still creates more chances per 90 than Kulu, although Kulu creates plenty. Kulu's pressing is better than Maddisons, although Madders still presses pretty well.

The two-10's experiment has worked against some sides but not against teams that counter-press us well. Maybe with someone like Rodri in the 6 role we could get away with it more often.

I can see us going Bentancur-Madders-Kulu against low blocks, and Bissouma-Sarr-Kulu vs strong midfields, and Bissouma-Sarr-Madders as another rotation.

As excellent as he can be on his day (working hard, quality passes etc), he can also be utter dogshite some games...that was the case yesterday and another couple times this season like vs Palace. Almost like it's not the same player, Jekyll & Hyde type stuff.

Weird thing is, it's not just that he doesn't perform, it's that he looks angry and up for picking fights with the opposition & ref. Just strange behaviour and makes me re-think the idea he should be captain/vice.

Re last night - yeah yeah yeah he was 50 yards away, but still no excuse for that miss, that was poor but symbolic of his cameo (and our squad's performance). He's on his favoured left leg, nobody's charging him...and the goal's wide friggin open. Simply has to score but then again a 3-2 loss was already massively flattering us.

Wow. Couldn't disagree more. What separates Kulusevski from other top 10s in the league (Bruno, Maddison, Eze) is that in them tough games where he can't get on the ball, he offers so much off the ball and gets tackles in and covers unreal ground. He almost turns into a box to box 8 (Sarr, Kante, Rice) out of possession. Strange holding that against him. Maddison played for 60 mins lastnight, could not effect the game on the ball and offered little off the ball. I'm not sure he even made a tackle! Atleast Kulusevski can battle on and win duals. If anything that makes him a way more complete player than majority of creative midfielders!

Say what? My post was about how he can be poor the odd game...but excellent the majority. Where did I say he didn't run, where did I attack his off the ball contribution? You'll actually find plenty other posts where I praised the kid for his work ethic, never stop attitude, hard running etc. Doesn't change the fact that he can have a shocker now & then and produce very little, on and/or off the ball.

Yup, Mads is very meh. That free kick vs Villa don't change the story.

Again, I'm one of the first to say it. Whole point was that he can have a rubbish game, like last night or vs Palace (where he just looked to get sent off) and that in an ideal world he wouldn't, cause the drop off from great Kulu to bad Kulu is significant...and when he's not on it, we tend to get murdered. Kid has that much impact on our overall performance.
