Manager Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I would *LOVE* to know what Ange really thinks of his squad. And whether he thinks that the players he has at his disposal are good enough in the long run to win the league under his tutelage and tactics.

He doesn't strike me as the sort who will hang around for long if he doesn't have what he feels he needs to compete. Although he's never appeared to give any impression that he can't get the team to perform with the resources afforded to him.

But I don't think he'd go full Conte. I reckon he will be slightly more "refined" in his actions.

Its not the defenders' fault so much as the system- put them in terrible positions constantly and wears us out by forcing us to be using maximum energy at all times, which is just not sustainable.

It's a bit of a mix - there have been plenty of terrible defensive errors, and the system makes is worse.

I don't buy the wearing out bit, mainly becuase our 2nd half performances have generally been much stronger (with the exception of Brighton).

how many football managers in the world would have two slow defenders stand on the halfway line waiting to chase back fast attackers? we could be playing madrid with 9 men and this fucking moron would have dier and davies standing on the halfway line waiting to chase back mbappe and vini jrn....the cunts the biggest brain dead cunt in football! anyone who cant understand or see that by now a year after that disgrace at chelsea is fucking braindead and should stop watching the game because you havent got a fucking clue!

I think part of the reason Ange was hired is that he's very grateful to be here and won't rock the boat in the way a lunatic like Conte would, rightly or wrongly.

In my opinion, the more time goes on, the more Conte is vindicated.

Fair, but if we are consistently losing the first half, then we didn't spend enough energy in the first.

I disagree though I don't think we are finishing as strong as Ange is telling everyone- the players to me look frequently exhausted and short of ideas. If we were finishing so strong then we should be getting more points.

I'd be more willing to give him time if I saw something, it's been 18 months now, surely things should be clicking into gear?

Last year we lost 4 in 5 around this time last year, the other was a 3-3 at City (which bar a ref saving us from a Haaland 1 on 1 we might have lost too)

we put it down to the injuries and the Chelsea anomaly and moved on.
we got to dec/jan/feb and got some unconvincing wins vs Everton, Bournemouth, Brighton and Brentford we weren't at it, but got the 3 points.

we smashed Villa in March and thought, okay we're away but then only won 4 more games all season (the 3 relegated teams and Forest!!)

we lost 5 in the last 7 including that horrible City at home sitiuation.

This season has been so up/down from the start. we need stability I don't know how much longer I can wait for Ange to figure it out, if he even can.

But the goals we let in today were not down to slow defenders on a high line.
If porro or Johnson were not cowards and put their head or foot in that goal is not conceded.
It was out brain dead attacking they let us jown today. How many saves did their keeper make other then countless sit crossses put into him.
Sad as it is to admit , Werner was probably our best attacker.

None, it’s not possible. Mentality of mediocrity comes from above.
Disagree, players and coaches have their own individual and collective mentality,

how often do they even interact with the ownership? excuses.

Everyone is responsible for themselves when they cross the white line .

the idea that they could say "the chairman doesn't care" doesn't wash with me, even if people believe it.

Umm, to be honest, from day one Ange has backed players that let him down on the pitch like Romero. He hasn't backed players that have let him down off the pitch like Bissouma. I think Ange is genuinely deluded and thinks he can win the league with the likes of Romero and Dragusin passing out from the back into the opposition, and asking the defensive midfield to similarly cost us two goals every game.

He has stated on multiple occasions that he'd be a fraud if he didn't genuinely believe he could win things here. So he'd rather be deluded than a fraud. To be honest, Poch also believed we could compete and got us far with limited resources. To answer your question, I think he does believe in his squad and will die on his sword. He continually tries to play bad things that don't work into good form, like double attacking midfielders or Johnson on the right, or re-signing Timo Werner.

He wouldn't do this unless he was still convinced. I can see the players still trying to play his way down to ten men away in Turkey, it just doesn't work when you continually give the opposition multiple goals and/or players as an advantage.

no they wasn't. but this is the guy that they are playing for, he would literally do that against madrid with 9 men. what confidence do they have in a manager that would do that? i guarantee he lost a large chunk of the dressing room after chelsea. it was the dumbest shit ive ever seen in all my years of watching football.

yea cowards, he signed the one that wanted to avoid putting his head in the way for 50m! i said ages ago when you have pussies in your side youre struggle, we start most games with 2 in the front line. soft and pathetic, everything about this fat aussie cunt makes me sick.

you get some little nerds on here that have never played a competitive game of football in their life not understand the importance of having some testosterone in your fucking side! fannys like son and johnson are damaging. you cant go into the trenches with fannies like that.

Not sure Johnson putting his head in helps. But Porro (if it was him) should be absolutely THROWING himself at the ball, not standing waiting to see waht happens. Disappointing for sure. Everyone just standing watching.

There is absolutely no chance of us getting no points until christmas! Get a grip! Honesty what sort nonsense is this. You think we will lose every game? If that happens then he'll go but can we please live in reality! We hammered Villa last week - we aren't going to lose every game. Inconsistency is the problem, we aren't just the worst team in the league after 1 game.

My god this is tiring. What is wrong with some of you

Of course there is a chance, let me remind you you said he would finish the season regardless. Well that is objectively absolute horse shit. My example was extreme, but do you think if he wins 1 game from now until Xmas he survives? That is entirely realistic, with City, Liverpool, Bournemouth away, Chelsea, Fulham and Southampton away in our next 6.

Throw in a United team who will probably knock us out the cup too.

We hammered Villa last week but let's be clear here, the first half of that game was quite shite too. I'm not convinced by us even when we win games, we blitzed them in a few minutes but for me it's in moments where we win games, but it just doesn't look sustainable.

Last weeks win just papered over the cracks. Same with beating City's reserves and kids in the cup.

I don't think there is any "wanting it more" or particular issue with attitude.

Our defense looks like it is organised by a drunk chimpanzee. All you need to do to beat us is defend deep and hit on the break.

In deference to drunk chimpanzees : enough of them with enough typewriters could knock out a perfect readable version of , say , Das Kapital ( in a variety of languages) . Given enough time ( which of course modern managers never get ) .

Two or three could probably cobble together Arteta’s next programme notes , in Lahotan , given a few days .

Just saying.

# lay off drunk chimpanzees they’re more like us than you realise.

I honestly can't stand him and his false bravado grifter bullshit personality that some people mistake for being a "winner".

The fact that some people can't see he is actually very insecure but projects it out as having a confident mentality is beyond me, although it doesn't surprise me, lots of people like James Corden and he's a fat untalented cunt as well.

I haven't liked Ange since his comments around the City game and the moronic takes that he has in his pressers but I can ignore all of that if we get results and progression as a club because that's what this game is about.

That being said, I have been up and down on Ange, sometimes feeling he should go and sometimes feeling like maybe he should be given time (mainly due to our chairman and my lack of trust that he would find a better replacement) but today for me was the actual line in the sand tbh, one could say I am now actually unapologetically Ange out lol.
Yep my final turning point was how he handled that city game

Strongly wanted him out ever since then , can't understand why so many of our fans worship every word he says

Are you saying we've got 10 losses from our last 18 league games? Good lord that's terrible :(

We sacked Mourinho just before a cup final, put Mason in charge and then had a long debacle of a search for a new manager and ended up with...Nuno.

It wouldn't surprise me if Levy sacked Ange over the international break, though my prediction at the end of last season was that Ange would last about 15 league games. Lose v Fulham and he'll be out, the boos were loud enough for Levy to hear at full time today.

I said he'd last until October but he got a few lucky wins mostly in the cups which kept him in the job until now, but I expect it will happen sooner or later, it is inevitable, but the wins merely delayed his sacking.
