No he wanted Neto but he's stated Odobert was one of the players he wanted.

You can say "club signings" all you want but Ange Postecoglu has specifically stated NUMEROUS times that getting young players is what he wanted and how its vital to the way he wants us to play. You're point would be valid if it was Conte/Mourinho but we have a manager that specifically asked for these players.

Its not really backing him though is it if he's asked for a senior reliable attacker who we fail to get but of course we somehow have no problem in putting deals through for bargain young kids on tuppence a week

Cherki has great feet, super technique, good vision it tight spaces, and is good 1v1 in a “not quick” but trixy kind of way. Down sides are work off the ball and allegedly attitude.

But for cheap, having a tool like him to use against deep blocks could be useful to have on your bench.
 
I keep reading that Spurs are interested in Brighton's 19 year old Facundo Buonanotte who's on loan at Leicester. I've watched him a few times on TV & he looks like the real thing. Apparently the asking price is 50 million

I agree it would be good. But players with bad attitude doesn't sound like like Ange will accept.

I think Odobert would have been a fine purchase if he simply didn’t get fucking hurt immediately, as is typical for us. He still is a fine purchase I think, but obviously it’s awful he’s not available.

I think it's clear there is a list and his priorities were Neto, Eze and Gallagher.

Gray and Odobert may have been on the list but I highly doubt there were Ange's number 1 targets. He is just not throwing his toys out of the pram like Conte would.
