Management Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

There has to be a middle ground between people thinking Postecoglou invented football and wanting him fired. If he has Romero and van de vyn back for the second half and the system isn't working that's one thing, but if you're judging him based on winning consistently with this much of the squad out that's not being realistic. Postecoglou's status is something you sit down and examine at the end of the season. Right now we need to support Spurs and that includes the manager.
The injuries are what they are, and the dip in form recently can be attributed in part to them.

But we’re at 18 months now and the club is in the same place as when he took over, maybe worse, with or without injuries.

It doesn’t seem like this project is going anywhere. So how much longer should we wait? It’s not gonna change in the next six months, so why waste all the time between now and then?

Apart from this, you can’t serve up what we watched tonight over and over, it’s unserious.

Outplayed by CP, Ipswich, Fulham, Bournemouth, could also add second half against Leicester. Tell what you want aboud Levy spending - but those clubs spend far less than us. Tell what you want about injuried defenders, but after all we scored one goal in last 2 games. Last 25 minutes today was complete circus. Bring someone WHO can save season by having time to prepare for EL knockout phase.

I believe he'll turn it around, yes.

Wouldn't be much of a supporter if I bailed in the hard times.
Fair enough, to be ignorant of the evidence in front of you in order to prove your loyalty as a supporter of the team isn't quite the claim to loyalty you think it is but I respect the fact you still believe.

I have no respect for the little dig implying fans who can see what's happening and has been happening for over a year aren't much as supporters but I guess, when one realises they've been had the first step is to lash out at those who were warning them.

Terrible results and performances coming thick and fast now. The form is just getting worse. Palace, Ipswich, Fulham and tonight. 4 of our last 6 league games.

Oh be serious. I'm fully aware of the way we are at the moment, that doesn't mean I don't think it will change. I've seen worse come good, for us and for other teams who were in a similar or worse position.

Lash out? LOL, I hadn't even considered other fans, just my own support.
There's only one angry man in this conversation, and it's not me.

I support THFC, I don’t support Ange Postecoglou. For the first 55 years of his life, I’d never even heard of the bloke.

BLIND faith is all you have..

We all really wanted him to succeed but he’s built nothing and it’s all crumbling into sand. And Ange knows it…

If you’d blurred out the players and told me this game was from the Stellini-era, I’d believe it. That’s how bad it was.

Too many fans have let that City game affect their judgment on Ange. Yes we played hard but the result was more a reflection of City’s decrepit midfield and defence. We still could have been 3-0 down after 10 minutes. We know that if you give us huge space to play and don’t make any challenges, we can score goals. Any team can do that.

The more accurate image of this team was seen against Palace, Leicester, Brighton, Ipswich, Fulham, Galatasaray and now Bournemouth. We lost all but two of them and were hanging on for dear life in the two we drew. Even that game at Coventry, they totally outplayed us for almost the entire game and we needed a genuine miracle to win. When the opponent plays hard, we crumble immediately.

People talk about giving Ange time, giving him time would be fine if we were beating the lesser teams consistently. At least that would indicate that the basics are being done well enough to make our superior talent count. But we can’t even do that and that’s on Ange. There’s no point persisting with a manager who can’t get his team doing the basics at this level. If this were any other top club he’d already have been sacked.

Can't say I agree with this take tbh.
Whilst I think it's near impossible in the current set up for any manager to have success in terms of titles, I honestly think the likes of Iraola, Marco Silva, Thomas Frank etc would get more out of this squad of players.

Ange has repeatedly shown a lack of flexibility and inability to learn from his mistakes.
He keeps plodding on regardless with the losses piling up which will be his downfall.
Precisely.

This isn't hard to see.

i remember being appalled at the Spurs fans who wanted Poch sacked.

Then I was hopeful Mourinho could be the final piece of the puzzle

Then I was certain Conte would be the final piece of the puzzle.

Then I hoped Postecoglou would be given the time and resources to rebuild.

Soon I'll have to put my futile hope in someone else... And soon there will be Spurs fans wanting them sacked. It's just how we roll. :D

It’s not like they’re the class of the league, either.

I don’t expect him to be sacked with a big one coming up so quickly, but if there is the sort of buffoonery we saw tonight on Sunday in front of the home crowd, I don’t see how he can be manager on Monday morning.

Whilst he's part of THFC I'll support him. When he's not I won't, same as every other manager we've had in the 5+ decades I've supported this club.

Why this offends so many is a mystery to me.

Like I said, I respect the fact you think it will change and are staying firm, unlike others, as wrong as I know you are.

Yes, there is, although actually angry is a stretch tbf. I was properly angry last year at the fact this fraud was even hired which meant a wasted season but now it's more frustration that the inevitable has taken this long to happen and the team hasn't been allowed to play to it's full potential when we could have had a full season under a competent manager but now we're already in December with 6 losses from 14 and another season wasted.
