Manager Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Wheres the cult of Ange now?

Iroela cultists can fuck off too. Everyone jumps on the new thing. Iroelas spent what? 1 season in this league.

Ooo fancy new name. Ooo hipster tactics. Ooo J league grandmaster.

Fuck outta here. We’re absolutely wank. Zero substance to our game. The worst weve been prior to Redknapps takeover.
Using tired words like hipster and cultists to mask the fact that you seem to know nothing about these "fancy new" managers isn't very novel. Besides the fact that you can't even be bothered to check how Iraola's name is spelt.

Fact of the matter is that not much will change while Levy is in place. Iraola and Silva are both performing well with fairly average PL squads, so it begs the question of how they would perform with a more talented set of players, utilising a similar attacking/pressing approach while shoring up our defensive shape, and adapting to games rather than reacting to them. Not to mention Iraola's on a "measly" $1.3m a year...

Who would you put in charge?

If we lose on sunday, i think he will be sacked.

I think In Premier League, there are two or three managers that could be a good replacement... Iraola, Silva or Thomas Frank. Three managers that are working in smaller clube with lower budgets.

Because I'm the way I am I'll support any manager who manages my club.

But I can absolutely fucking guarantee you this: Frank and Silva would have two losses in the bank before the same SACK SACK forces started their sacky sack ways amongst our fanbase.

Iraola might get a bit more grace. Might.

Or maybe Iraola might not get that grace 😂

This fucking fan base. :roflmao:

You asked the right question. We need to be realistic about the caliber of the squad. There simply isn't anyone to bring in that can deliver what we all want to see this season. Postecoglou never should have said the things he did that gave the impression the team was farther along than it is. He's done some good things considering the age of the squad and the lack of the two or three outstanding players every big squad has. We've got to see this season out and not melt down every time there's a step backward. The season is a long way away from over and the villagers are going to feel silly having to put away the pitch forks and torches once things settle down.

Helpful constructive posts like this are what sets TFC out from the pack.

You'll note how the poster courageously announces the manager they know for certain is the right choice and is, in no way, a "cultish" expression of support but a reasoned and knowledgeable argument for why their nominated manager is the best for spurs going f forward...

Wait... what? You're telling me the esteemed poster and non cultist fount of all wisdom Gym&Chill HASNT announced the messiah coach to lead us forward?

What the fuck are us sheeple meant to do now?! 😭😭😭

stats tonight.

35%-65% possession
8 -4 shots on target
3-0 clear cut chances

this whole gung ho shit is not working is it when the other team have more shots on target and more importantly more clear cut chances! the football is diabolical, we have CB's having everyone in front of them with their back to goal, football is fucking hard when you have your back to goal and have to take the ball on the turn, its fucking easy when you have everything in front of you and runners to play in. we are playing this handicapped scenario every single game and we dont have players good enough to play this, especially when they are up against good players themselves. its so fucking braindead.

this might work when youre up against a bunch of plasterers and plumbers, but in this league you're not up against mugs and we aint got the likes of iniesta and messi in the team. trying to be the big dogs in every game is fucking cringe, especially when they are having far better chances by playing a far easier brand of football. it really is fucking embarrassing that its been allowed to go on this long.

we are 11th in the table over the last year of league games....fucking disgraceful.
You say disgraceful but where is the squad of ours likely to finish? Liverpool, city, Woolwich, Chelsea all have way better players than us, I’d go as far as saying united and Villa also have better first 11’s and owners who back them. That puts us 7th at best, you then contend with a bucket load more games than the likes of Brighton, Bournemouth, Fulham and Newcastle which result in a large amount of injuries to our best players (Vic, VdV, Cuti, bentacur with the ban) and you have a team that should be mid table.

You can’t put your hand on heart and say we are good enough to challenge or push the top 4 in a close race? The idea is frankly stupid

I think it's pointless replacing Ange right now , and no Manager worth his salt is going to take us on at the moment . All the names being thrown around at the moment are nothing more than hit and hopes , who could also end up being replaced by the end of the season . The only reason one of those names would take the job would be ego and naivety .
I'd let it play out for the time being and let Ange get the sicknotes back and then see if he can get everything back on track . If not then look at getting someone new in with some of the season left for them to re assess and start looking at targets .
Now I say all that but whoever we got in , manager or player , will still be working with the same anchor , and it's a fucken big anchor .

Good to see some "legend" is an international star by yelling out " fuck off you fat cunt" the the gaffer of the team he supports. Tough guy must be.

Don't care where you sit on the Ange situation, that was disgraceful to watch. .

Might not be a bad thing if no manager worth his salt wants to come to Spurs after Ange is sacked.

But someone eventually will take the job and the pay from Levy, and the cycle starts again. Short of lightning in a bottle, in terms of a miracle worker (which Ange is not, unfortunately) and/or luck in unearthing generational talent (like the Poch years), the kind of success we yearn for is just not possible under ENIC’s approach.

Ok, your point on Iraola i accept. But for example, Silva and Thomas Frank. Long term they are doing very well with average squads and budgets
Not on you personally. But the last point is just going to be another bullet to shoot the next manager when things get tough again 1.5 years from now. People will question why are we signing budget players again - Levy's fault, insert_name_here (next manager)'s fault. Vicious cycle.

I’m not here to defend Ange. But I can’t pile on either, when I take an honest look at what he has to work with. Outside of Solanke, he was given children in the last window. Werner is a castoff. Son has been caught by time and is a shadow of himself. His backline was Poch’s first purchase and a clear mismatch for the system.

Honestly, when I look at Fulham and Bournemouth, and I’m going both man for man (and including sub options) given who we actually had available, I don’t see a lot of daylight. I can’t lay that at Ange’s feet.

Ange will be gone by the new year IMO. All of our home games are against stern opposition and we are capable of gifting fucking anyone a win on the road. I feel as though the run of 10 games unbeaten at the start of it all has actually been a huge rod for his back if anything, he was (and still is to an extent) the media's darling, a good, quirky talking point that generates great soundbites and had everyone saying "mate" for a while. But there has been this overwhelming narrative, both amongst certain sections of the support and the media in general, that "something is cooking, and when it clicks they will be formidable." I just don't see it. The worst qualities of this style seem to be getting exacerbated even more greatly this season; the injury crisis started earlier, the 1-0 shutouts to crap opposition have been even more comical and headline making, it feels less certain than it has at any point in the last decade what our best XI is. I
think the real damning thing is that I would probably be fine with the position we're in and the terrible results if we were actually giving meaningful PL minutes to any of the rotation players before half the first team got decimated by injuries. It's little wonder we have both VDV and Romero out given Ange's flat out stubbornness to give minutes to Dragusin prior to being forced to do so, Spence is another example of a player who could clearly be giving Porro a break, freeing up Gray to either provide cover for Udogie to get a rest at LB or Sarr/Biss at CM. I could understand this behaviour at the tail end of the season if you were just trying to grind out the last few results needed for league places/cup performance, but driving the first team into the ground before Christmas is just wallybrain behaviour.

I just find it really really weird on one thing.

Our club has being the true epitomy of Spursiness, where everyone on Earth looks no further than to laugh at when football is concerned. We all hate it, yet all I see are most of our own fans projecting that image further by wanting the very manager who wants to change that mentality and culture gone to be fired.

I wouldn't wanna argue any other points. I think anywone who truly loves this club has valid points in their argument, being respectful ones, I respect them.

Ange has his fault. So will the next manager. Every past players we deemed to being the issue have moved on, bar Son and Davies - we still have the same problem.. Levy is the main issue. But he will stay. Suck it.

And so be it. 6th or 16th this season. I'm gonna bite it and move on, I'm not going to be that emotionally drained by this club anymore. I just want to start on my own small part to break the fucking cycle repeating the same shit over and over again after every 12-18 months, which does nothing useful in long term other than further solidifying the Spursy tag.

And I'm just gonna be the stubborn cunt like Ange to not buckle. I'm sure there are others who will share my views. But I also know many will, hopefully being respectfully, disagree. To each of their own.

I understand the objection, but at least if we have a hit then we have a hope.

Winning things under Levy will require a managerial miracle worker, overachieving signings, current players becoming better, and the stars aligning otherwise. Of course.

But we already know Ange isn't going to do that. If he were, something would have happened by now.

Even if we're just throwing a dart, we may as well throw one.

And it's not just 6 further months of dismal football, this is half a season when players could be developing. We can't just disregard the time that would be lost growing up the players we want to see grow up

...the kind of success we yearn for is just not possible under ENIC’s approach.
I've just said something similar, but what if it all changed this time?

It's been almost 25 years now. Maybe this one was the last straw for Levy. Maybe he and or the board will finally accept that Ange isn't the only one out of his depth and implement a new plan?

This carousel is obviously not working and they must realize they need a new idea. Even they can't accept this comedy, if for no other reason than it's hurting their financial results.

At some points the mistakes have to be realized upstairs and a new plan made. Surely they must get it now, someone else needs to make decisions after 4 consecutive failures.

(Hah. Sometimes I get a bit carried away and say crazy things.)

It would be shocking if he made it to the summer. Worst part is, he will probably go to a team with better players and win stuff.

Maybe that would be the BEST thing that could happen to us. Illustrate in living color that the problems are upstairs and with the squad needing to be rinsed

Ange involved with confrontation with fan's, this is just a matter of time now.
Once again our beloved leader is, presiding over a mess he has helped create.
Club has hired sporting directors, scouts, new manager and a bunch of kids, only to have the worst Tottenham team in years well done all.

Low point tonight. Credit to Bournemouth they are doing well this season.

Still think if we get our 1st choice CBs playing things would look a lot different.

Take the best CBs out of any side & they will struggle badly.

We don't have the squad depth to cope.

Table is very bunched so a couple of wins & things can change very quickly.

Ange & the player's look dejected though so not sure he can turn it around.
