I must admit that was frustrating as hell to watch. I still have faith but the volatility of the support has me worried Ange won't get time.
Stick with him for the season, we will win a trophy or 2. I know it seems unlikely atm, but Ange can do it.

Low point tonight. Credit to Bournemouth they are doing well this season.

Still think if we get our 1st choice CBs playing things would look a lot different.

Take the best CBs out of any side & they will struggle badly.

We don't have the squad depth to cope.

Table is very bunched so a couple of wins & things can change very quickly.

Ange & the player's look dejected though so not sure he can turn it around.
VdV will keep getting injuries because of what he's being asked to do.

"Yeah mayte, we don’t need to defend, Micky will catch him"
TWANG GOES THE HAMMY

I get why people are annoyed but Ange is a proven winner. Tottenham have been through plenty of managers and have found no solution to winning a trophy for a long time now. Ange isn't just interested in winning, he is at the club to improve the place from top to bottom in order to consistently win trophies. To get there, there will be bumps.

Every time Tottenham lose, I see a lot of people losing their mind on here. Based on what I read, it is time for Tottenham to stop using the motto "To Dare is to Do". A lot of fans here aren't brave enough to challenge the established order and lose their minds every time there is a set back. They want to see their team park that bus at certain times. How is that brave? How is that ambitious? Maybe the motto should be "We won't dare because we are to scared to do".

Support the manager and his methods whilst he is at the club.

How long will you support him, indefinitely?

On Ange: I've seen what he can do since his Brisbane Roar days. He is a proven winner and gets the teams to play football. When he was in the A-league, I was hoping that he would somehow end up at FC Porto (my club).

Minimum: Give him until the end of the season.

However, look at the squad and players brought in. Most won't peak for another few years.

Question: Who could come in and immediately challenge for the title and cups with this squad? No point changing a manager with a great philosophy to get the same results or worse.

Seems to be most (but not all) of the posters clamouring for him to be given time are from a certain region of the planet and only joined here in May/June last year.

This is ultimately on Levy and the recruitment team, no question. Ange has not sufficiently been backed. But nor have any of our managers for considerable time.

HOWEVER

This guy is tactically inept and stubborn, arrogant and is insistent that his way is the only way. Refuses to adapt. Or be pragmatic.

When it works, it looks brilliant. When it doesn’t, we lose. And we’ve lost 18/52 league games.

I still believe the objective should be the Europa league and/or one of the domestic cups - EL success equals champions league next year. It’s the same end result, regardless of the league placement - however, you have to have a culture of winning. This dismal league form will spill into the cup performances, it already is. The squad is injury ravaged but the players look dejected and gone.

No Tottenham is going to challenge for the title.
The club is now a mid table one, but has the best stadium in the land, we are such a paradox, club doesn't know what it is.

The cycle is very inevitable.

I won’t be crying when Ange goes but the fingers should be pointing upstairs and the culture that has been allowed to foster at the club.

I actually cringe when people roll out the “Ange is a proven winner” without giving context to what he’s won. I get it, winning ANYTHING is at least a base level of decent in professional football, but there are levels to it.

Moyes won a European trophy with West Ham, would you want him? Roberto Martinez won a trophy with Wigan, would you want him? Ten Hag won a couple with United? Are you replacing Ange yet? After all, these are all proven winners.

Winning in Scotland with Celtic is like winning a one legged race but you were allowed to drive. The J league and the Aussie league just aren’t on any kind of comparable level to winning things in a decent league.

I can completely understand the idea of not wanting to just always replace the manager, I can completely understand wanting to give a project time, but the amount of people who have their heads in the sand with this romantic idea that a bloke in his sixties, who’s landed his first job in a proper league, who openly admits to not thinking set pieces matter, who brought no coaching staff with him, who says that plan b is “do plan A better” and thinks he’s a footballing savant because he used to carry Puskas shopping is crazy.

He isn’t bristly in interviews because his great idea isn’t being executed, he isn’t abrupt in interviews because he’s “coaching wins” the players can’t enforce, he’s bristly and abrupt, shuffling round looking at his feet and snapping back because it’s dawned on him that he’s now well above a level he’s capable of, is completely out of his depth, and doesn’t understand why properly coached teams with a thought out tactical plan aren’t just rolling over for him like they do in the naff leagues he’s managed in till now.

Levy is the biggest problem, but let’s not act like Ange is a genius coach who would win pots left right and centre.

There are some things about Ange that do my nut in and he takes a share of the blame.

As ever, the main issue is the wee baldy man upstairs. Look at the drop off in our squad over the last 6-7 years.

Also think some of the players need to take a look at themselves. Some gutless performances.

Your football knowledge is as weak as the Aussie beer you drink.

Only thing Ange is doing this season is getting the sack. Probably by Christmas.

Brutal run of fixtures coming up. I suggest you buy plenty of stubbies amd tinnies to see you through it.

Yes in a second season there might be a few bumps in the road, but this is now a sinkhole, team has given up and fans are to.
No way should they be this bad into a second season, trouble is another manager with a few adjustments to defending could get them moving again.
Chelsea will ruin us Sunday, and I think it will then come to a a head if it hasn't already.

So were Mourinho and Conte. At the very highest level no less.

See the pattern here?

I'm not so hot on Ange myself, but I do wonder how many of the people yelling 'fat useless cunt' from the rooftops (or in a stadium, mind) might look in the mirror and see one staring back at them?

Yep. He's a poor manager at this level and needs to go asap but ultimately its on the board and always will be. What we're seeing now is the culmination of 7/8 years of complete neglect and abysmal decision making.
