Lots to talk about on Ange, and he had a big part in this, but can we just recap some of the summer transfer narrative that we had on this site….

- Any notion than Son needed selling and replacing made you some sort of moron.

- Arguments than Johnson wasn’t good enough were met with the goals and assist police. I remember a large cohort of fans saying how much better than Luis Diaz he is based purely on stats. Laughable.

- Solanke was a game changer for us. How his pressing and goalscoring attributes (1 PL season) was the key to unlocking this side. I don’t want to dog Solanke too much because he hasn’t been terrible, but you only need to watch 5 games of his to realise he isn’t an elite player. He’s fine. Serviceable. Never a needle mover for us.

- Juxtapose that with Gyokeres, who was too big a risk because he was scoring in Portugal. We went for the prudent choice instead. What happened to ā€œto dare is to doā€. Surely we’d rather reach for the stars and fall short than settle for mediocrity?

- Archie Gray was going to be a huge upgrade on PEH. An 18 year old was going to be an upgrade on an experienced international who has been a leader for his country for years? I was not a fan of PEH, but we have missed his experience and energy particularly in tight games. I’m sure it was Richard Arlison (who by the way knows nothing about football from every single post I read of his) that said Gray would be playing for England by Xmas.

- Similarly, Gray was meant to provide robust cover at FB. He’s a very very very shit full back, doesn’t have the pace, doesn’t have the defensive nous, doesn’t have the man to man coverage. Spence must be watching him play there and scratching his head.

- Whilst there was broad agreement that the Werner signing was silly, when myself and others were calling for a proper signing at one of the wide forward positions, we got a lot of shit about how Odeberts stats showed he was perfect for us, and how the Werner signing, whilst not ideal, was astute in a way to not block Moore’s progression to the first team. It was so so obvious we needed a high quality wide forward, anyone (and I mean anyone) associated with the club that couldn’t see that needs sacking.

- As a fan base, we also used Chelsea as an illustration of dumb transfer policy and there were many claims of how much ā€œsmarterā€ we are than them. Now I’m not lauding their transfer strategy because quite frankly it’s both dumb and seemingly unsustainable, but what it does show is the importance of buying high quality players. They have plenty - even if some of their signings have been duds. We are as rich a club as them now. We should be focussing on how we get as many top players into key positions as possible. Moore and Lankshear will work their way through it’s they’re good enough!

None of this to exonerate Ange, but it does put into perspective how poor the summer window was and how much we’re paying for it now.

You need to remember many of the posters arguing how wonderful our summer signings were disappear once we lose games and their hyper positive delusions get exposed.
It doesn’t matter if we sign a one legged midget from Uzbekistan, you’ll have clowns on here telling you he’s the current young player of the year in that country etc.

It would be funny if it wasn’t a bit tragic.

Why was he going over there? Not sure what he was trying to achieve. Best to avoid confronting angry fans like that, nothing good can come of it.
That was my initial thought when I saw it. There's nothing to be gained. The fans aren't happy and will boo and perhaps get abusive like one guy did. You aren't going to get a pat on the pack for applauding them - best to walk away/not engage.

I get why people are annoyed but Ange is a proven winner. Tottenham have been through plenty of managers and have found no solution to winning a trophy for a long time now. Ange isn't just interested in winning, he is at the club to improve the place from top to bottom in order to consistently win trophies. To get there, there will be bumps.

Every time Tottenham lose, I see a lot of people losing their mind on here. Based on what I read, it is time for Tottenham to stop using the motto "To Dare is to Do". A lot of fans here aren't brave enough to challenge the established order and lose their minds every time there is a set back. They want to see their team park that bus at certain times. How is that brave? How is that ambitious? Maybe the motto should be "We won't dare because we are to scared to do".

Support the manager and his methods whilst he is at the club.

Social media has a lot to answer for here.

'We're #ballers#nextgen#cooking' etc for players who have either not played for the shirt or barely any minutes in it.

People need to chill out and wait until they've played a bit before casting judgment; conversely, when youngsters take a bit of time to develop as to be expected they shouldn't be dug out immediately for it.

My memory may be foggy but I think that some sort of major shift happened in our medical and sports science department midway through Poch's run. When the injury thing really picked up. So there must have been some sort of shake up behind closed door within the medical team. I know that one of our main sports science guys left and was replaced with Poch's kid (who has a degree tbf, but we were his first job).

We have also recently poached the head of sports science from West Ham for this season. But I assume that it will take some time for him to change things as well.
Interesting, you are right over the years the medical side of the club has definitely changed. We just don't seem to get players back quickly or resolve the injuries for the long term. It's almost like the players would have to do something themselves, I remember Kane kept getting one or two injuries a season, he then hired his own 'medical team' so to speak and the injuries disappeared for longer periods of time.

Probably Levy being tight on the medical dept

totally agree though, just ignore them. It's a very bad look and im sure the lizard cunt king will mention it to him when they meet

Excuses again.

Postecoglou is not doing a good enough job.

Fcuking simple.

The only question is does he get more time.

We could sign the best talent in the world and there would always be an argument we should have got one more player. Boring

None of this was being said when we beat United and City.

And now, the end is near
And so I face the final curtain
My friend, I'll say it clear
I'll state my case, of which I'm certain
I've lived a life that's full
I travelled along the A406 highway
And more, much more than this
I did it my way

Big wins, I've had a few
But then again, too few to mention
I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exemption
I planned each 4-4-2
Defend a corner kick? Well not on my say!
And more, much more than this
I did it my way

Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew
I didn’t have a fucking clue
But through it all, when there was doubt
I heard the voices saying Ange out
I faced it all, and I stood tall
And did it my way

I've loved, I've laughed and cried
I've had my fill, my share of losing
1-4 ā€œit’s who we areā€
I find it all so amusing
To think I did all that
And may I say, not in a shy way
Oh, no, oh, no, not me
I did it my way

For what is a man, what has he got?
If not himself, then he has naught
To play the game he truly wants
Ange ball for all the fanboys chants
The record shows I took some blows
And did it my way

Yes, it was my way

Noticed you’re going back to last season and putting funny ratings on old posts, fair enough, not something I’d ever do but to each their own

Ange isn’t the greatest manager in the world, I agree, but I like his football (when it’s working) and his mentality

We’ve tried every type of manager over the last 25 years and it’s always turned out the same, what’s the point in sacking another one? Starting all over again and the blame not getting pointed at the real villains?

I don’t have another fucking rebuild in me, we’ll be here again in 18 months

Yep and the fools at that top have shown that even when they get it right with the manager and recruitment they won't make the final step in investment needed to really challenge.

Love the club but I've accepted that as long as Levy and ENIC are here we will always be stuck in purgatory and never act like a real big club.

Apathy is sometimes worse then anger with things like this and I feel like the fan base and the players know we are going nowhere.

Yes, and those of us in the so called "negative" camp on here were screaming it all summer from the moment we signed Werner that we could all see what a shit show that window would turn out to be.

Where to begin?......Do you know what, fuck it! It's all been said before, it's all wasted energy. Nothing changes unless you change it! Some will be pleased to hear I'm not posting on hear again until....
1: Ange has gone!
2: Enic accept a big money investment and we see that investment invested in top quality players.
3: A number of our fraudulent starting 11 are sold. Namely, Werner, Johnson, Romero (don't wanna be hear), Sonny, times up mate, Maddison, flatters to deceive etc, etc.
Writing this down has made me realise I won't be posting on hear for quite a few years, so I'll take this opportunity to wish each and everyone of you a Merry Christmas and the happiest New Year you can possible muster as Spurs fans.
