Have you read my post? It made me uncomfortable the way he is potentially starting to believe/play up the hype and bollocks spouted by the morons on Sky. Some on here think it’s just his sense of humour. Okay I guess we’ll see. He has always, to me at least come across as a down to earth guy. So this seemed way out of character and maybe I am reading too much into it.

When he’s won the cup or something else he’ll have learnt the right to take the piss or whatever else he wants to do. Not yet though

I don't believe he means all that "are you not entertained - it's who were are mate" schtick (it's just the Australian version of Luis Enrique flouncing at journalists for asking stupid questions about tactics) but it's starting to get on my tits all the same.

It's a deflection from actually answering why we are still getting basketball after a year and a half. I mean he still has to deflect, but there's better deflection, injuries, kids etc etc, than his "entertainers" schtick, which is inviting ridicule. A few months ago he was fuming with the fans for not wanting to win a game, which I was kind of with him on, but now he's dishing out an equally daft/irritating message - even if it's smoke and mirrors.
Good post but it wasn't "read this twice" good :cautious:

So you were saying I know he was doing that (what you just said there)?

Because I don’t know that. I think he was fully taking the piss out of them like he did with Carragher in the press conference today. This man does not give a solitary fuck what they say.

Ange getting results and not sacrificing his philosophy even though we have 10 first team players out deserves a lot of credit imo

His ceiling is so high if we invest in the squad properly (lol)

I back him till the end

Getting results? We’re 10th. If we lose to Liverpool it’ll be one win in 5 league games and we could drop as low as 13th.

We won a league cup game and smashed Southampton but not sure he’s getting results in general at all. We are losing or drawing more than winning.

When we had a fully fit squad at the start of the season we kicked off with a draw at home to Leicester and then spent most of the time hovering around 8th. Almost the entire team was fit for the Ipswich debacle.

I agree we are holding it together somewhat given a genuinely bad injury crisis and he does deserve credit for that. But honestly it feels like so much of the love for him is based on feelings and myths.

Well very true except this isn’t the entire story.

This happens in both directions, and it’s tiring in both directions. You’re absolutely correct, there are some posters who are doom mongers. I imagine they are sad about all aspects of life no matter what.

Problem is the toxicity goes both ways, if we lose you’re right there are lots of doom mongers types. However when we win, there’s a whole group of people who log in just to mock people who have said they don’t believe Ange takes us anywhere. There was a post in the match thread yesterday when we went three nil up, where someone actually said “I just logged in to tell the Ange out idiots that you don’t deserve this performance” this is equally as moronic. A win means people you trawling threads saying things like “so you don’t like it when we win?” “Does us winning make you happy?” “You’re Ange out so you can’t enjoy our wins” it’s ridiculous in other directions.

Liking Ange as a manger doesn’t make you any more of a fan than someone who supports the club but doesn’t think the manager will work out. The poster you quoted put it very well, you can do both.

It’s people on both sides of this that need to get over themselves and realise that people can have different views and that ALL of them can still be Spurs fans. It’s just a shame there’s a very small amount of extremes on both ‘sides’.

WOW!!!

Tbf Larry David Larry David was specifically talking about the results since the injury crisis and, although you do give credit to that, I don't think it's quite appreciated enough on here or the wider footballing world. What Gray is doing at CB is simply astonishing and I think we've all expected the wheels to drop off and... they haven't?

If nothing else I do think it shows that the team (what's left of it) are still buying in. And that deserves acknowledgment.

Everything you say about the dropped points early and the Ipswich game are absolutely fair enough.

I honestly think we could lose on Sunday, actually be 13th and still have posters talking about how great the season is going due to a league cup semi and .. vibes. Even if we lost to Forest it feels like some would be fully on board with justifying it.

People say Spurs fans are entitled etc but this has to be proof of the opposite. Any other top 6 fanbase are unified in their absolute disgust if they’re even sniffing the bottom half of a table!

United sacked their manager who won two cups for it already this season.

TBH, that hasn't aged too well for him. He's had far more fails than wins in the last decade or so.
Wenger is a more important figure in the tactical and philosophical history of the game and Mourinho has far more trophies, and both of them are totally satisfied with that, both got what they wanted.

The two of them had absolutely zero respect for the other's outlook on life and sport, that's what made it such a delicious rivalry.

I think we’ve done well to be relatively competent and put together post injury crisis.. we haven’t been slapped silly in any game (although Bournemouth should have been really) and have treaded water.

But results wise even considering injury crisis it’s still not like we’ve powered through and consistently picked up points. Performances wise, sure.

Gray is really good. I don’t think it’s the miracle some think it is. He was a key man for the 3rd best team in the championship last season. He’s very versatile and played numerous positions there too. We spent a lot of money + a valuable player on him for a reason.

He was brilliant in the cup vs Chelsea for Leeds last season too - the lad is really good, mature and had a decent chunk of senior football experience prior to Spurs.

Come on it's a bit of fun, it's all light hearted at the end of the day, as long as it doesn't get personal then it's all good.
