Management Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

It's because of him in that he wants to play this style and he refused to fully tank it in the cups and Europa.

Any coach that wants to play this physically demanding style, without the depth required to do it would have had to prioritize the league over the others or suffer injuries and fatigue. Ange didn't prioritize and now his system is tired, injured and broken.
He didn't have to prioritise anything last season and we've had a similar outcome in results, injuries and performances, Albeit we are better in attack at times because we have an actual CF.

But we are worse in defence possibly because not having PEH, Royal and even Dier at times, who are naturally defensive players with experience.

Ange said he doesn't change tactically and that the individuals on pitch determine a different outcome........so he doesn't really do anything does he.

Every player Ange wanted Levy has given him so stop blaming Levy it is the manager with his tactics and the players he wanted.
That’s bit much.

Ange needs to go and is woefully out of his depth. But he reportedly wanted Eze, Gallagher and Neto and got Odobert, Archie Gray and Werner on loan.

Levy has not properly backed the manager, like he hasn’t properly backed any manager ever. When it comes down to it, he penny pinches in the wrong moment.

The mistakes our players make is a direct consequence of the football he wants them to play.

The higher than usual number of red cards we have had since he arrived is a direct consequence of the football he wants them to play.

The unusually high injury rate we have suffered since he arrived is a direct consequence of the football he wants them to play.

I can't believe this isn't abundantly clear by now.

Could you actually care less if he was employed by THFC and we won the league cup?
Ignoring the fact Liverpool will spank the fucking life out of us over 2 legs and either of Woolwich or Newcastle will see us off in a theoretical final without breaking sweat, what difference does it make?
Winning a 2nd rate domestic cup and finishing bottom half with an ever decreasing PPG the longer he stays is unacceptable. If he's somehow managed to survive until May, won the league cup and the league form is the same, he still needs to go. If we win a cup it's despite him, not because of him.
I don't really care who manages us, I'd like us to win a trophy. Whether it's Ange or not. Whether we win because of him or not, none of that matters to me.

I wrote off the league season before it started because I'm fully aware of where we really are as a club. The fact that we are in a cup semi is a massive bonus which I didn't think we'd see this season.

I live in hope we can progress in the fa Cup and Europa League too. But the expectations are low.

But what i mean is would winning a cup make any difference to whether you think he should stay on as coach?
For me, it absolutely should not give him any extra time.

Super post and if we were 6 to 8 points better off, as we should be, then it would be more than okay.

It could all go to rat sh!t in 4/5 weeks though.

Amd with a transfer window of no activity I would worry.

The flaw in summer in failing to bring in a another striker and central midfielder are being seen, as was suggested by a few of us at the time.

The central defensive problems were largely unforeseen.

the longer Levy leaves this then there will be less people happy
if he is sacked today all those that want him gone will be happy, those that want him unhappy
but leave it till the end of Januray and those that want him gone will ask why wait so long and those that want him in will also be unhappy

Surely that's progress though? I mean look at how many more goals we've scored!!
There are fans that genuinely see shit like that as actual progress.

We definitely don't deserve to be any better off than we are.
Or do you mean on paper? IE, should never be losing to tripe like Ipswich and Palace?

Even if this were true, which it isn't. Levy hired Ange like he hired the last how many failed managers? It's Levy that refuses to pay the wages to attract serious players to the club.

Levy is the issue
Levy is not picking the team or the tactics
the manager could choose to walk and say Levy did not get the players I wanted or he could change his system and work with the fit players, BUT NO, this manager keeps playing his way to ensure he gets the sack and a BIG payoff

Our squad isn’t as bad as its performances suggest, I genuinely believe if you get a proper, professional manager in who actually has some tactics, the FA Cup and the Europa league are winnable. The FA Cup less so as there are other prem teams of course, but that Europa league, with the right draw and a bit of luck any half decent squad there can win that, even us with our aversion to trophies.

Keep him on, we crash out of all of them, get someone with a plan in and that EL for me is still genuinely open for us even with how bad we are playing currently. This is at the same time as gaining a bit more of a respectable position in the league as well, both are doable with even a half decent manager.

Unfortunately, I think we’re going to keep him too long, finish 11th-15th, see our best players walk out the door, and then we really are back to mid table battles.
