Manager Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

There's something extremely odd about this one over the rest.
He's cast a spell over a lot of people to hide his lack of talent and it seems Levy is under that spell too.

Or, just maybe, Levy is leaving it to the others and the others aren't as adept at getting rid when the time is right.
If that is the case, they all need to be sacked ASAP.
Yeah I don't get it with Ange. Somehow he has this happy chappy image when he's mostly a miserable cunt in interviews and pressers.

I also find it a bit cringey that he gets to experiment with his kamikaze brand of football in England at our expense. It's very small time. No other "big" club would tolerate this mess.

His interview after United, "Are you not entertained?" and all that bollocks was embarrassing after only being saved from yet another complete collapse by a freak goal direct from a corner.

My biggest gripe is his stubborness and that is ultimately what will get him sacked. Yes we have had terrible luck with injuries but a better manager gets us more points on the board by adapting to the players at his disposal.

Ange is saying he needs more players. The noise from the media seems to be we are expected to be quiet.

And this fucker is almost at 50% for losses this season. Of course he’s on the cusp of being sacked.

I actually don’t think he is on the cusp of being sacked. I really don’t.

I think Levy:

1. Has been conned by Ange into believing that it’s only injuries that are causing these terrible results in 2024.
2. After the Nuno/Ange hirings he is aware that very few decent managers are willing to work with him.
3. Remains unwilling to buy out the contract of a currently employed manager.

He would rather ride it out and pray that a miracle happens even if it means throwing the entire season away. Levy used to be ruthless with managers but the last two searches were so humiliating (with candidates turning down) that he’s gone completely soft.

Yeah I’ve been thinking similar. But if the results don’t change then he will act, he’ll have all and sundry in his ear and will sack him eventually.

No more Mason. It doesn't do him any good professionally and probably is unhelpful because he becomes some version of "the old family retainer" instead of an upcoming coach. It's time for him to go manage somewhere. But I don't think it will come to any of that. The injured players will return and Spurs will come up with some wins and everything will go forward with Postecoglou. I think the owner and board have decided Postecoglou's the guy and they aren't going to be open to removing him. He'll have to have a full season with a healthy squad and transfer help before they'll make a decision. I can argue that he never should have been hired in the first place, and equally that it makes no sense to fire him until its demonstrated the system won't work.
Lmao.

He’s at 21 league defeats from 56 games. Many of those losses with Micky, Romero and Vicario.

I’d argue that regardless of injuries, losing almost 40% of your league games would suggest that on the whole the system doesn’t work.

I really doubt he can get away without a result against Wolves or Newcastle

Nah, both were competitive games in terms of chance creation. People overrate our performances because we press well & see a lot of the ball. In a lot of these games we failed to create meaningful stuff and gave up a similar amount of chances.

Sooooo.... you can't honestly be that concerned with our loss to Forest who were at full strentgth and are the second most in form team in the league?

If we already have a full time manager to replace Ange, then the best time is to get him in now, so that he can get in 2/3 players in the coming TW to steady the ship until the summer, when he can replace more players in the squad
That works only if our ‘first choice’ is currently unemployed …. If that’s genuine then yeah pull the trigger…. Who’d you think it is?

If it’s not

We sack ange now and will be unable to replace him with our first choice should that first choice be currently managing…. Leaving us to install a caretaker who we certainly wouldn’t want to allocate funds

What d’you suggest?

Postecoglou is THE reason we keep having such injury problems.
He'd be lucky to have 5 league games with a healthy squad before he wrecks them all again.
And he'll probably still lose 2 or 3 of those 5 games anyway because he's a total fucking fraud.

And before checking his run he was hardly busting a gut to get back
he also runs inwards allowing elanga more space, hes a fucking terrible defender. shit footballer all round to be honest from what ive seen, regardless of shit system and the worst manager going. you watch udogie's natural instincts and they are all wrong.

give him 6 months with a proper manager and if theres not a massive improvement we should move on, he looks like an absolute dud so far.

It's interesting reading the comments in here today. I think I started a thread on this and so did someone else but what's an acceptable outcome for a season for us now?

Is it at least top 6 in the league, a good run / win in a cup (doesn't matter which one, Audi Cup doesn't count)? What do you think?
League cup is going to be difficult. Can't see us beating Liverpool over two legs. The FA Cup will be an opportunity but we will need luck with the draw i.e avoiding the top Prem teams until the final. Europa Cup is most winnable because the opposition are much of a muchness and no Champion League teams drop into it. This is our best hope. My expectations are now top half and Europa.

The worst thing is that if we accept this, we've lowered our standards permanently. No other managers would've been given this long under those circumstances.

And sooner or later he will have a decent spell. Anyone can have it with those kind of players. And people will think he's turned it around. And it could go on for longer than we think. Because something about his persona is making Levy stick with him.
He has the least bragging rights of all managers, SPL being his previous peak. Still he's the most arrogant fuck I've seen. Talking about second season winner every time but can't even beat Ipswich. He's so tactically inept it's actually funny 🤣. But everyone's laughing at us nowadays. But for some reason he has Levy under his control.

The idea is that this young squad should be able to adapt to any future attacking manager. Surely.

We can change managers but we can’t change overall styles because that’s what’s fucked us for the last five years.

Add and enhance the squad and move players on where needed but we need to keep a core nucleus that we build for success with.
Edin Terzic, get him in as interim he is a talented progressive coach who isn't on some kind of insane power fantasy like Postecoglou. If he takes to it and ends the season well jobs his. If we are not certain get Iraola in the summer. The good thing about the way we have brought is any modern coach can use Sarr, Udogie Maddison, Vic. I think Ange Postecoglou took many people in but was simply not qualified to coach this level. He will never work at it again.

We can recall Philips use Dorrington and buy a Hanko to get us through. I'd buy Bakayoko I'm sick of choir boys, good his got an ego. We will be better without the bizarre handbrake that's Ange Postecoglou it's time everyone accepted it think we are nearly 90% there alot of the cultist have disappeared.

What a weird comparison. Sometimes I do think you’re just on the wind up with this trying to be overly reasonable stuff.

Forest are a low block side who took a lead - I’d expect us to manage a good xG against them. And if the Forest result came in isolation, no I wouldn’t be that concerned.

The issue with the Forest result was that it was part of a chain of losses. The performance was somewhat ok.

The whole point was that people overrated our early season performances & after like we were inevitably on our way to a winning run. It wasn’t true.
