lol every report I read about this guy it sounds like he's got his feet firmly under the table

No manager will survive these results. Only question is how much weight the club are putting towards the injuries and giving him some leeway. They shouldn't, but they may well decide he's been dealt a rough hand. That would be horrendous decision making, but that wouldn't be the first time. Ultimately we may stumble to a few wins and Ange rides it out until the summer, but I can't see it.

Without a doubt Woolwich and Liverpool will beat us, plus likely Newcastle. I just can't see how he survives losing 3 out of the next 4.

The worst thing we could do is give enough time for Ange to survive, and end up with this clown still here next season, a very real chance he'd take us down.

Mate....our tactic and set up is completely at fault.

It encourages our fullbacks in the 10 position where Spence ran into on instruction...and where he lost the ball.

Sarr is also pushing extremely high up because again that is the instruction to do so.

Bentancur now being the sole "midfielder" has a decision to make, cover the space vacated by Spence or Sarr as any midfielder would do(he has to much to do on his own now.) Johnson came inside so Bentancur covered right back area(the right thing to do.)

Johnson makes a poor attempt at getting the ball and now the ball falls to Morgan-gibbs white who is a powerful and willing runner who has absolute acres of space to run into..and a ridiculous amount of time to pick a pass, a technically very good he executes an excellent pass to elanga leaving our backline no chance as it's terrible to watch from our point of view.

Udogie could have done a bit better but damage was done
Same fucking shite over and over.

"We overload the midfield by being the only team to invert BOTH" fullbacks, mate"

Leaving acres of space in behind. Every game. Every time.
If anyone didn't expect Chelsea and Liverpool to absolutely fill their boots playing that way then they're seriously as out of their fucking minds as the idiot in charge.

If and it's a massive if he turns our season around and we end up around the top 4 or perhaps top 6 and a trophy then he would have more than deserved another season.

I think though that is unlikely to happen and we'll probably end up in 8th with no trophies and yes then we should replace him.

I think people are looking at this from a results based perspective, I keep hearing about him being sacked based on one result every match but it looks so far to me that the board are looking at the context I said in my previous post about injuries and cups...A run in the EL and FA might save him for now.

Edit - Just as I thought

If the club really mean business in supporting ange, they would move very quickly early in the window.
I can't see a world where, they bring in 2/3 in the first 10-14 days which is probably what he needs as starting point.

It says a lot about this guy that 18 months ago I'd probably have given up my season ticket if we replaced Conte with Fraudgate or Potterer.

And here I am, thinking either of those would at least bring some organisation and make us less predictable and harder to beat.

No, it’s our squad which isn’t good enough.

Blaming Ange is providing cover for Levy.

If any squad had poor strength in depth, and the starting CBs, GK, and back up LCB were all injured- they would struggle.
What was the excuse when we lost 5 in 6 at the end of the season, with Micky, Vicario and Romero all playing?

What was the excuse when we lost to Palace with all 3 playing? Or Ipswich with 2 of them playing?

The board will back him until they don't, and we will only hear about that when he's sacked so I don't put much emphasis reports that he is still retaining support.

The problem I have about only looking at it from results perspective is, he's either the right man or he isn't. I don't see how the club can still view him as the man to lead us forward, so surely he has to go. We can't have a lame duck manager the club has no confidence in. What about planning for the summer window etc.

I do think though in light of our league form, an exit in the SF will be curtains for him but I think whatever happens, barring a miracualous turnaround, we will part ways in the summer regardless.

the point being XG can't be looked at in isolation the way you are choosing too.

You have made concessions and some kind of analysis based on the way teams play and whatever else for the Forest game but you just show XG for the other games like that even comes close to telling the whole story.

You over use XG IMHO. It really isn't the be all and end all of stats you make it out to be.

It can if you’re claiming we were absolutely battering sides at the start of the season. I can back that xG up with my eye test/personal opinion too - I didn’t feel we were creating clear cut chances in many of these matches. Others felt the same.

Hardly. Fundamentally we were OK against Forest. It was a close game. Again, had that been a ‘normal’ game nobody would be overly concerned. The issue was we are losing every game, not whether we played well or not..

Teams are also content to let us have the ball.

Possession on its own in that context with teams knowing we will present multiple 1on1 turnovers in a match isn’t a measure of dominance.

They wouldn’t be fucking 12th and on the edge of a fucking relegation battle. Jesus Christ why are some of you so accepting of how unacceptable these results are.

They were rubbish BEFORE injuries!

Agree on the results factor, but many also felt the Newcastle game, for example, we created enough to get something from the game.

No one said we battered Newcastle but we were the dominant team.for large swathes of the game and didn't deserve to lose.... more people thought that than not IMHO.

We were a few points away from top 4 before the injury crisis.

I do think the results and league table position are unacceptable. The only difference is who we blame for that.
Ultimately levy on the whole. But with injuries you adapt and get through a tough time. You don’t carry on with the gung ho shit.

It’s was a narrow loss against Forest and we almost always fall to Liverpool. Results in isolation are not the issue. It’s the bigger picture.

I’m not sure a different approach would have helped with the defence in the state it’s in. Seems easy to believe that in hindsight.
