Management Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Speaking in his press conference after the game, Postecoglou said: “Yeah I could have. But… all these things… are totally irrelevant to me. Substitutions and all those kind of things. If you’re not competitive, it doesn’t matter what you do, you’re not going to get rewards, you don’t deserve to win.

“We didn’t deserve on our second-half performance, irrespective of subs or anything else, to get something out of the game. But I think if you do get something out of the game, you’re falsely rewarded and I don’t want to get falsely rewarded.”

And that’s when he lost me.

So why make any subs at all then if he is not interested in turning the game round.

Been reading a couple of articles earlier the carabao semis are a benchmark for board decision. We should have vdv and romero back for them but key games for Ange. He is running out of time Ange. Need 3 points tomorrow. Even everton rejected pereira for lampard.

Probably - but I’d wait to see which ones they specifically want before going out and spending huge on players for Ange.

I don’t see the point in giving him whoever he wants in Jan and then sacking in the summer. We may as well take the hit this season, it’s a write off with him in charge.
Surely any players bought would be bought with the very high possibility of Postecoglou no longer being manager?

I'm not sure requisite quality is available in a January window but it does seem like there's a "cutting nose off to spite face" thing gong on here.

This goal wasn’t a structural or tactical issue imo, it was a decision making issue.

Udogie has Elanga covered and for what reason I don’t know, he checks his run to play offside? I’m not really sure why he checked his run but that’s the reason the goal happened.
Udogie never had Elanga covered on the goal
Was a good yard or two off Elanga at all times
Also never has eye on ball and man till Elanga receives ball and too late….
Poor defending and repeat offender…

Ridiculous comments, if you want to play football like that, go write it in a boys football comic or something.

He was pissed off because his entire back 4 and Bents managed to throw away a two goal lead in 15 minutes through ridiculous individual errors.

So he said the stupid thing instead of digging them out in the presser when what he really meant was "I expected my best players to make up for their stupid fucking mistakes"

I just don't see the quick fix if we bring in a new manager now. No need to start getting all narky about it. Thats just my opinion and I've given my reasons countless times already. I think you just don't like that I'm actually making sense
Keeping this idiot makes NO sense

Dummy Feeling Dumb GIF

Just got home from twickenham where I watched harlequins blow a lead to draw 34 all in the last minute despite fighting back numerous time in the match.

Ange would have probably fucking loved the entertainment but as with spurs the disappointment was still well and truly present!

The blame on Ange for injuries is just people looking for a reason to hate him. These are professional athletes for crying out loud. Like guys in their prime from an athletic standpoint who can’t handle some starting and stopping? Athletes do this in every sport on the planet and aren’t constantly tearing their hamstring. Gimme a break.

And players rushed back too soon says more about the medical staff than it does about the manager to me. Can you imagine the medical staff says a player is fit and the manger trots out Gray and Dragusin instead? It would be completely ridiculous.

The reality is, the system isn’t the issue. He’s not causing the injuries, and there isn’t a manger who just rolls in here and makes this all better. We’re going to have to face the facts and clear out the deadwood and build a proper squad to compete across four competitions.

how the fuck have the media not taken him apart after that anyway? its so strange how protected he is when hes making an absolute fool out of himself weekly. hes coming out with some truly shocking comments. if this was some other idiot who didnt speak english and it was translated he would be getting ruined.

he really does want to be seen as a football savant dont he loool. "subs and all that" like hes well above subs and they are such a minor part of the game looool.

the positive is, we will never have to suffer someone this bad ever again, its impossible to get worse.

the sad thing for this idiot is, the people that do have half a clue see him for what he is and its truly embarrassing.

That works only if our ‘first choice’ is currently unemployed …. If that’s genuine then yeah pull the trigger…. Who’d you think it is?

If it’s not

We sack ange now and will be unable to replace him with our first choice should that first choice be currently managing…. Leaving us to install a caretaker who we certainly wouldn’t want to allocate funds

What d’you suggest?

There are some rumours that Terzic might be a candidate and I think he’s currently unemployed. But I’m just guessing 🤷‍♂️

Ange is the deadwood.

I wouldn't sanction a single sale until he's gone.

Postecoglou is THE reason we keep having such injury problems.
He'd be lucky to have 5 league games with a healthy squad before he wrecks them all again.
And he'll probably still lose 2 or 3 of those 5 games anyway because he's a total fucking fraud.

And there’s no guarantee that the returning injured players won’t be missing more games through injury later in the season. I’m citing Romero and VDV as exhibits A&B.

You haven’t answered the question though mate
Overlapping/traditional full-back mostly just make one-timer cross/quick 1-2 with winger and runs back into position. Also he provides width to our CBs and CMs during build-up in less crowded pitch areas. If we lose the ball (mostly its not fullback who loses it) then its easier for given full-back to track back and cover his side - because of his starting position.

I find it much less riskier than playing as some sort of 6 during build-up on our half, and as 10 when in possession in final 3rd - mostly because we expect our full backs to operate in very crowded areas, where its easier to lose the ball. And for guys like Udogie or even Spence its not natural environment. We lose ball in such scenario typically means whole wings are exposed.

Also worth to mention that with traditional fullbacks usually only one is involved in final 3rd at once, so another can sit deeper, or join at later stage of action when ball switches side. In our gameplan, we usually involve both of them at once.
