Manager Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

we were derailed by injury this year and last year, he finished 5th last season with concentrated bad luck, would have easily finished 4th

this season we would be much higher on the table with a normal amount of luck, but only eddie howe gets the injury sympathy
You do know an injury ravaged Newcastle thumped us, at full strength, 4-0 last season, right?

Getting rid of Ange is the wrong thing to do.

STYLE
Playing defensive, pragmatic football is for teams that just want to 'survive' in the league. If you want to win, you have to be attacking. City and Liverpool have dominated for that reason. However, this system only works with a world class keeper and centre backs. We won't progress with centre backs who are always injuries and a keeper who cannot defend set pieces.

CULTURE
Ange is changing the culture of the club. He's spoken many times that mental weakness and a loser attitude dogs the players. We signed a lot of our players from relegation battlers - they do not know how to be successful, only to survive. There is no confidence, no swagger, no arrogance.

If the club wants to be successful, they can only do that by getting the right players. Another change of coach just starts the merry go round of mediocrity again.

I think we severely underestimate just how good Kane was and especially in tandem with Son before he became washed up. You can cover sh1te with a few world class players, now we genuinely have none.
When you have a fifty-fifty match and an elite player like Kane you'll win more of those. The down side is, I thought many times when Kane was at Spurs the team just stood back and waited for him and Son to win it.

We don't have a manager / coaching problem. We have a Chairman problem.

Ange made a mistake not insisting on the CB cover we needed in the summer.

But, now, with a long list of injuries, exhausted players and restless fanbase, it is not the time to judge him.

Still +13 goal difference, 2nd top scorers in the league. Judge him on the football we've played with a full squad, back him now and then give him the tools (players) he needs to compete.

i remember more good performances and a slightly deflated team at the end

this year i remember great smackings of villa, united, city and the Qarabag
Ah- Qarabag. Righto. Beating City and United this season seems to be a bit like beating us - everyone (almost) is doing it. I would love so much for the system to purr as it sometimes does (the two minutes before Johnson's goal, for example) - but it doesn't, because it's built on a foundation of incredible defensive frailty. I appreciate that Ange has tried to modify that on occasion by putting in two DMs like today, but - ironically - that has prevented moving the ball swiftly and accurately up the pitch so it's actually putting more pressure onto the MF and the makeshift DF who are having greater possession than we'd like, whilst taking out the most valuable part of the system - the attack.

Too many times our forward line are receiving tiki-taka passes on the halfway line and then trying to dribble past 3 players or tip it around the corner to then run into space. However, as this is the richest league in the world, pretty much every defender (apart from Walker) is as fast or close to being as fast as our forwards so are more than able to get back to cover what's happening. There's only one team I can think of that doesn't always leave their fastest defender back to cover the fast break - any ideas which one?

With these players, in this league, the system as it is doesn't work.

I was like that for awhile too but the mistakes are not coming from the defense. We are fully healthy in midfield and have our best attackers available but still cannot create chances.

Yes we have scored goals in games but we have had multiple games scoring 3 goals while losing. Other games we score 4+ in blowout wins were the opponent is terrible and makes us look good.

In games where the other team shows up (Wolves, Fulham, Ipswich, Bournemouth) we crumble. That’s where I blame coaching. What is he doing to change anything when we continue losing to teams we should be beating?

It's January in just over 2 days.

We need reinforcements.

Sack, and it's instability quite possibly, and a new manager given players he might not want or being unsure. Either way not ideal.

Back, and it's a belief that the issue is resource availability.

We just need to be decisive and unless it's tonight/in the morning, it has to be back.
