Manager Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

It is deniable. Neither you or me know whose decision that was.

Prior to this Postecoglou has been very careful with player welfare. He subbed Romero off against Brentford for concssion concerns in his 1st ever game. He's taken a lot of time to bring players back carefully. Maybe this all changed with the pressure he was under

Or maybe it was just terrible luck.

We don't actually know. If the players didn't think they were ready they would have leaked it (or their agents would)

Look if you want to believe Ange has done a great job of taking care of our players health with his tactics, rotation, and roster choices, you're free to believe what you like.

For me the circumstantial evidence about the whole situation suggests he's just not capable of maximizing squad effectiveness given the resources at hand and constraints in place.

If we're goingto say things like "we lost games we should have won even with a full team, so the injury excuse is no excuse" then its relevant to know how man times that actually happened.
Woolwich, Newcastle, Brighton, Ipswich, Palace, all games in which we had a max of 1 first team player missing, 5/9 of our PL losses so far. Can't forget the 2 dropped points to Leicester on opening day.
Both those are teams at far more advanced stages of development.
Only because we've bumbled from one managerial appointment to the next since Pochettino when we were ahead of both those clubs, and failed to properly back most of them in the market, and finally we start seeing some actual investment in players under Ange and he turns out to be a fucking buffoon. People clinging to the wage bill argument to defend Ange as if it means something, we still have the 6th highest wage bill in the league, even if you're using that as your sole measure for success we're still horrifically underachieving. I'd point out players like Kane, Son and Dele Alli probably were on fuck all to start with and became our highest earners over time, people act like this is a recent ENIC development but this has largely been their model all along and we've been much better off than this under them with even lower transfer spend.
"Having some key players out can mean" one or two key players out, or your entire back four out and not a single recognized CB available. They're not equivalent.
We've not had our entire back four out for any game this season, Porro and Udogie have clocked the most minutes this season in the PL, Vic's injury is a pretty recent development as well, it's mostly the CB injuries Ange apologists are hiding behind.
The unjuries occur at the beginning. Why they're still happening is open to opinion.

The scores were 1-2 (A), 0-1 (H), 2-3 (A) and 0-1 (A). One goal losses, probably should have beaten Brighton and Palace.
Who gives a shit how many we lose by? We've lost 9 fucking games in half a season. And against some utter shit.

But I’m wondering does ange have any say in transfers. I posted somewhere else that he used holjberg quite often to come on and see out a game.
That shows he can change tactics,
Even if holjberg wanted to leave why did ange replace him with a like for like player?
……. Because Danny won’t spend the cash !
It's quite right. Ange first season did many tactical subs to change things and won us many games at the final minutes. I guess people just like to see what they want to see.

But having say that, I feel Ange ego is abit too inflated this season he seems adamant to prove many wrong that his method fully bought in will improve us from last season. To say he couldn't adapt is simply not correct. Though stubbornness cost many managers their jobs.

The best one was the complaints about him going for a hug with Arne Slot, nearly wet myself reading that one.

This thread legit reminds me of the Mourinho thread on SC back in 2021, the amount of rent free-ness that man was living in people's heads at the time was hilarious, literally every comment questions his press conferences, tactics, comments, manarisms etc...ah that was a funny time, this these is actually uncanny
Lol right. Have you seen a post saying something like why he's so friendly shaking hands and hugging opposition managers was because he probably couldn't believe he is managing a PL team and it's like a dream come true for him? For fuck sake..
:ange-facepalm:
There are many things to beat him with, but sportsmanship? Grrr....

Yeah, made great tactical subs to eventually beat Sheffield United about 2 weeks into injury time.
Also loved how he managed to turn the Liverpool game on it's head by having a good goal ruled out and 2 players sent off

Tactical genius.

What position does this wasters 'tactics' actually benefit?

The striker is consistently isolated

The 'wingers" are expected to remain on the byline which isn't eithers actual preferred game.

The centre backs are continuously exposed and are expected to win sprint races every 5 minutes.

The full backs are consistently exposed and are left in one vs one situations every 5 minutes.

The central midfielder/s that are expected to play the 6 position is usually isolated and expected to do all the donkey work himself.

The only position that an argument can be made is the central midfielder playing the advanced role. It's just a total shit show.

Ange looking confused on the touchline wondering why we keep dropping points.

Meanwhile:

Arne Slot explaining that clean sheets are the key to winning.

If it’s today expect the news at like 10 or 6. If it’s not today then he’s likely in charge for Newcastle.

Last 6 league games 4 points.
Crazy how our standards have slipped so much.

Let's just face it......we beat the worst ever team to grace the Premier League and that's it

Awful awful run of results and now we have Newcastle, Liverpool (cup) and Woolwich on the horizon.

He's not going to survive that run without a win in there somehow.

Forest, Liverpool, woolwich, Chelsea, Bournemouth and Newcastle the current 6 top form teams.

We are 17th.

Doesn’t look good for us does it……. We have become one of the whipping boys in the division.

Players need to show some pride here. Or the emirates could be a nightmare day out.
